Bayless with 17/9. That would be nice to have off the bench, or in the starting lineup.

Favors is another guy I think will be way better than LA by next season

Bayless played well for the most part, but I wouldn't pimp him too hard tonight. He missed some open shots, and had two horrible turnovers when TOR was desperately in need of a hoop. Good player, but still not ready for big minutes.

Sonny Weems
Jerryd Bayless
Amir Johnson
Andrea Bargnani
DeMar DeRozen

This is Toronto's starting line-up.

Bayless has proven to be a solid bench player for a 50-win team.

Then he'd be a waste on this much less than 50 win team. Might as well trade him for a potential top 15 pick.

Not at all. He's proving, so far, to be a pretty solid starter for a "much less than 50 win team." We could use a good young starting quality player. And maybe he'll improve as he approaches his prime.

I disagree. Having nothing in current value in return for a productive and young player isn't a good trade, IMO. That trade has hurt the Blazers this season, as I see it.

When trading for draft picks I think its rational to wait until we see what that draft pick turns into before writing a trade off as either good, or bad.

Is that unreasonable?

I said the trade has hurt the Blazers this season, didn't I? Please correct me if I'm wrong in how I wrote my opinion on the current effect of the Bayless for ??? trade.

Honestly, who really gives a shit about this season? We aren't going anywhere. Never really were without a healthy Oden. You think pretty highly of Bayless if you think he's going to elevate us into the playoffs.

I give a shit about this season, and gave a shit at the time. However, I didn't mind the trade then, and don't now.

I do. I'm guessing most fans do that pay to see the team on either TV or at the RG. I'll guess that the players, coaches, management, and ownership care as well.

Bayless is better than nothing, which is what the team has right now off of the bench in terms of a PG, shoot-first or pass-first.

It's not like Bayless is 31. He's 22 and keeps improving. I'd be thrilled to have him right now.

Unless were going to make the playoffs. Its all moot. I'll take a future pick over a stop gap, shoot first PG anyday.

You think he's that much of a difference maker huh?

I think it was a bad trade for this season's team, and likely for the future. You don't, obviously. Oh well.

Marty playing really well in his debut. 9 pts and 3 rebs in the first half in just 9 mins of play.

I can only assume Minnesota will drop there investigation into Websters back since he now has more points, rebounds and assists than Babbitt in 1 game.

That many turnovers are usually pretty costly unless you're a star.

A solid game in this case though, so efficient.

how about them Celtics?? any comments!?

The fact that that trash-talking jackass Garnett hasn't had a career-ending injury is proof positive that there is no such thing as karma.

I don't suppose that's the kind of comment you were looking for, though.

lol no I meant any comments on their run without Perkins, West, JO being out and Shaq pretty much playin 1 in 3 games.

I know it doesn't affect your teams chances for playoffs but do we stand a chance against the Lakers? Not that you care I guess but as an NBA fan and this being "Around the NBA", any comments!?

As long as anyone beats the L*kers, I'm happy. Playoffs is different from regular season.

We don't know the front office's rationale. The reasoning put forth by fans seems to be that he was a scorer and not a pure point guard, so with Roy at the 2, he'd never fit and therefore was worthless to the Blazers.

I find that pretty faulty logic for trading away a talented young player under team control for another few seasons, so I hope that isn't actually the reason.

All you need is a master conspiracy assumption :). When I first heard of this trade I assumed it was part of a bigger, delayed deal to get hold of Chris Paul. When the Hornets took off I figured I was wrong. But now that they have come back to earth and the league has purchased them, then the conspiracy all became clear. Now if I were the NBA I'd put Paul in New York, but who knows?

If it's Celtics vs L*kers, I will be rooting for a mid air collision of the two teams

If Perkins can come back and play even at 50% they have a good chance to unseat the Lakers.

Not that I would be watching.

The only way I could root for either the Lakers or the Celtics is when they are playing the Heat.

Mother Fuck the Miami Heat.
