MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—Memphis forward Darrell Arthur will miss the season after an MRI exam confirmed a torn right Achilles tendon.

The Grizzlies announced the injury Tuesday. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Arthur was hurt in practice Sunday and had the exam Monday. The team says he is scheduled for surgery within the next week but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2012-13 season.

They just signed Dante Cunningham because of it. Good for DC

You know why this happened, right? Because he was originally drafted by Portland as part of the Batum draft. All season ending injuries can be traced back to us...

Yes that was the rumor. How about us? Denver offered melo for our #1 pick.

That's all? They only wanted your draft pick?

Seriously though, LA messed up. Just think of what they could have offered for Dwight.... Jim Buss likes Bynum too much (if this rumor was true).

Yeah I think it was during the time Kobe was all bent. I will try to find the rumor. And yeah I think a filler was involved, but they just wanted our number one and whomever for melo. Again this was only a rumor.

I was referring to $ amounts. Landry got a 1 yr 9 mil deal also.

IIRC David West got $10 million per year.

Humphries got between $7 and $8.

That's not the same.

Kemba doesnt need to be a star. If he has a Ben Gordon type career and they have a top 5 pick this year and the year after they are set.

Gerald Henderson is a prospect as much as you want to laugh at it.

Set for what? Fighting for the 8th seed?

Who cares. He went to the Clippers.

I'd want out of a franchise that can't find an owner as well.

People are ripping on Lebron, Dwight, CP3 for leaving small market teams, but if those teams didn't have shit rosters around their superstars they would've thought about staying. They don't want to end up following Garnetts career path to many more years.

You take any of those three teams rosters without their superstar and they have bloated payrolls that wouldn't have a chance at the playoffs. If they had anything at all close to a poor mans Pippen to help them out those guys would've all seriously considered staying put.

Afflalo gets 5 yrs/ $43mil from DEN.

I'm expecting Nic will get a similar contract.

Gosh I desperately hope not, or at least I hope that’s not the ballpark we’re discussing for an extension. Now if Nic plays out this year and proves he’s worth $8+ million fine, then we can pay the man. But he’s all potential and little substance at this point. He had a solid rookie year, injured second year, then slightly regressed last year. He’s been horrible in the playoffs. I wouldn’t give him more then $5million per season right now since it reduces our cap flexibility; plus we’d have matching rights next off-season anyways. If he wants to lock up financial security now he can take it, if not he can play it out and risk losing some money or potentially earning a ton more.

So Humphries signs for $1million more then Kwame Brown? Nice move Golden State!

A top 5 pick in this draft is going to be a star.

Maybe, but Oden was a once in a decade center prospect, any draft pick is a gamble. Right now every team has a potential Ben Gordon on their roster, so you could say rebuilding prospects look bright for every team in the NBA if you follow your assumptions about the Bobcats.

Curry just rolled his ankle in their game against the Kings. Same ankle that he recently had surgery on. Had to be helped to locker room fwiw.

Should be mentioned he was defending Jimmer on the perimeter and a little shake made his ankle lose stability to the outside about an inch. Didn't look too bad, but potentially indicative of larger and lingering problems.
Too bad, hate to see that.

Damn, that sucks.

BTW, Dre is beasting in his first preseason game for DEN: 8pts, 6rebs, 12asts in 29mins and started alongside Lawson.

Rudy did well also with 8pts, 3asts, 2stls in 20mins

Guess I'm not drafting Curry in my fantasy draft!

I liked Jerome Randle last year and he's been playing great in his two games for Dallas.

17 pts in 18 min. of play -- 7-11 FG.

Faried had 14-6 off the bench in 15 minutes.

Still mad we passed on him for Smith. Oh well.
