Had great meeting on getting an NBA team back 2 New Jersey. Our state should have an NBA team & I look forward 2 working to make that happen >>>>

I've said it for a while that if Seattle doesn't build a new arena they wont be getting another NBA team. With too many teams as it is, the talent level is watered down, other cities are already making plans to bring a team to their city.

Well, if the Sonics don't come back within the next 10 years I think the Blazers should start marketing this team as a regional team like what the Seahawks do.

Demps is a fool.

He agreed to trade CP3 for three aging players on big deals and mediocre young players (if that).

There was just an article about someone buying up a bunch of SoDo south of the stadiums to put in a basketball arena. I'll try to find the article.

Does the NBA need a third team in NY/NJ? They already only support one.

I've got to agree that these teams are just lowballing the Hornets. This is Chris fucking Paul! On one leg he got the highest PER in the first round of the playoffs. They think NO is desperate, and yes, NO is desperate, but NO also knows that teams like the Clippers AREN'T going to get Paul as a FA, so they better up their offers. Stern is actually negotiating like any GOOD GM should.

Seattle city officials have been approached by a private group looking to build a basketball arena in the Sodo District near Safeco Field in the hopes of attracting an NBA franchise, according to two sources who have been briefed on the talks.

The proposal involves an investor who has acquired property, apparently south of Safeco Field...The proposal, the most detailed to surface since the Seattle Sonics left in 2008 for Oklahoma City, appears to be yet another attempt to revive the dream of an NBA team in the region.

McGinn has expressed an interest in the city playing a role in the financing, one of the sources said, noting the controversy that would generate. In 2006, Seattle voters overwhelmingly approved an initiative that says the city must make a profit on any investment it makes in a sports arena.

A new arena has been considered essential to acquiring an NBA team.

If an arena site were found and financing for the project obtained, investors would have to work with the NBA to attract a new franchise or buy an existing team, such as financially struggling teams in Sacramento and New Orleans.

Among those involved in the Sodo plan is Wally Walker, the former Seattle Sonics player and team executive, the sources said. Walker was a minority owner of the Sonics, serving as the team's president and general manager from 1994 until the team was sold to Clay Bennett in 2006.

The deal is dead.

Gordon wasn't included.

Two mediocre players/prospects, expiring contract and a lotto pick (even if it's early-mid lotto) just isn't worth it.

Compared to what Denver and Utah got for their stars, it is not a bad haul.

Kaman was an all-star not too long ago. Not that high on Bledsoe, but Aminu is a decent prospect. Very raw though. The pick should be high and the draft class is loaded.

If NO insists on Gordon, I would only do the trade if they are taking crap contracts back and nothing else of value.

Oh yeah? If CP3 is so good then why did we choose to trade down and get Martell Webster?

:pimp:

two things:

The last things Chris Paul did was punch someone in the nuts during a game.
New York Schoolboy PG Legend (tm) Sebastian Telfair was taken with the 14th pick 1 summer earlier.

From today's media day.

Kaman showed up looking like epic beard man.

^That pic right there is worth the name change!

A team has claimed Chauncey Billups and it ISN'T the Nets.

Who could it be?

Gangster! Nice swoop by the Clippers.

It has to be Mo. They'd be crazy to amnesty Kaman...unless they plan on matching Jordan's offer sheet.

John Hollinger @johnhollinger

Clippers also needed to renounce rights to Craig Smith and Jamario Moon.

I can't find the tweet, but did you guys see how good Kendrick Perkins looks? Lost like 40lbs!

Well 30 lbs, but looks good!

it's funny how everyone kept saying all the playersd would get fat, and tons lost weight. though, perkins' best asset was strength. losing 30 lbs. could hurt.

I would definitely trade Blake Griffin for Dwight Howard.

Also it seems the Clips did not want to offer Gordon and the first round pick?

I could see that. Shaq was at his best as a fat slob.

We'll see. I guess it is better for his knee.

Delonte signs with DAL (in addition to VC). Jeez. Poor Rudy should just stay with Real Madrid.

I'm thinking the same thing. His best attribute was that he's a brut downlow. Not so sure anymore.
