Exactly, I've been using it for 4 years now, and as Trench said every designer has a different way of doing things. I dont use alot of things, like masks, levels etc. while he does.

I dont mind you asking questions (thats why I made this topic) if you need help here and there, but you need to learn it yourself, you need to learn what works best for you in Photoshop, and then just do as Trench said and practice, practice, practice.

I think you'll be a good designer after some practice and experience, I've noticed you have a good creative mind (somthing I lack, lol) as seen in the design game topic.

Just keep at it, if you need help, I'll / we'll help you out, but we cant guide you step for step through everything

I dont use most of the techniques NT uses, and we all come up with our own ways with practice and study. My suggestion before asking anymore questions is to visit Deviant Art or Good Tutorials and follow step by step signature designs. Just google Photoshop Signature Tutorials, Im sure there will be many links.

You will not learn PS2 in 30 days. lol. It takes practice, practice and more practice. Google info on the tools, their uses, etc... Research signture techniques. Its all found on the WORLD WIDE WEB.</div>

1.) I'm not sure, you'd have to ask Windmill.

2.) Just play around with brushes and stock images. But one of those MMA sigs I did (the Fedor Emelianenko one) was a photo manip.

3.) I just made 2 layers, 1 red, 1 blue, then split them in half, and used the feather technique to blend them together, same with the photos.

4.) I dont understand what you mean? What I do is have the colour layer on the bottom, then put the brush work layers over the top of it, and give them an effect to make them look softer on the piece.

Thanks, i dont think ill ask much more then. I just wanted to find out some cool effects.
And the last thing, does anybody know any good designing forums or websites?

LOL, i cant find were to feather something/feather tool. And thanks Trench, i started looking some stuff up and found a few good sites, ill stop asking so many ?'s

My only questions are how to feather,
and when you load brushes, do they have to be in one of those categories, like Basic Brushes, etc. or can you make your own category?
 
Select > Feather

No, you just load the brushes by clicking on the "Load Brushes" button.

So they all have to be in one of the Categories already set? How do you keep them organized?
 
It doesnt matter, just go to Load Brushes and load them, thats all I do. I dont know what the cetegories are that you're talking about.

Like, how do you find one that you want after you put it in the brushes? The catogories when you click the Brush Button in the top corner, then go to the Arrow next to the word. The categories at the bottom.
 
I still dont have a clue what you're talking about, I and still dont understand what you dont get about this.

Once you load them they go into the brush list, you just scroll down and find them...

Ok, nevermind. I was just asking how you find one, or if you can make new categories. Like how do you find the brushes that you want at the time.

Ok, new question:
What exactly defines a style, like Grunge, Modern, Tech, Photo Manip? How do you make a sig look like that. Could you define the styles?
 
It's pretty obvious, grunge is grungy looking, modern is simple stylish modern looking, tech is technical looking and photo maniupulation is manipulating a photo.

grungy: the state of being covered with unclean things
(basically a dirty, rusty look)

modern: characteristic of present-day art and music and literature and architecture
(new, stylish simple/sleek look)

tech: hi-tech, advanced, futuristic looking

And I have no idea what a photo manip is.

Just going back to the backgrounds for a minute, another thing I like to do is use premades, such as these ones. I like to blend them, play around with the colour etc. you can get some nice outcomes.
 
Quick question, with those premade's how would you blend in a team logo into the background? I have PaintShop Pro.

avys. Gifs are fine because they are small. I would suggest JPG's at around 60% for good quality sigs. PNG's are good too, but larger file. It keeps more of the details and color intact.

Does anyone have Corel Paint Shop Pro? Or is anyone familiar with using it because I have a problem with one of the effects I'm using. I used this one effect called 'seemless tiles' and now whenever i try to select a portion of the picture it does the seamless tiles effect. I don't even need the effect and it still does it when im cropping.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just figured out my feathering was set to 100.
 
How do you underline text? Like a kind of fancy thing?

How do you make a pattern in the background? I know how to set it, but how do you make it in the first place?
