Know what would be hilarious? If Olshey hired a woman as an assistant.

Anyone know if Nate Tibbetts will be retained? I'd love to see Vanterpool in that similar position with us.

They hired a woman in a position of power last season. I forgot what her role was but it was quite high up.

yeah but that’s not a visible position so nobody in the media gives it a second thought.

In all seriousness, getting a different perspective would probably be a great thing for Becky Hammon (assuming she's not going to land one of the other openings)...

Would love to see Darvin Ham and Vince Carter get looks, mostly because they're two of my all-time favorites to watch. Gary Payton feels like he might be an interesting name -- Dame connection, defense, local angle... I wonder how Chauncey would feel about another similar player coming on under him?

Apparently Mark Bryant is now considered one of the best big man coaches in the game? He's a former Blazer...

Feels like a positionless bball type would be an interesting add to a staff (thinking like a Shawn Marion type)...

In a recent interview with The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Aldridge said he’s struggled mentally and emotionally since suddenly retiring in April due to heart issues while with the Nets. Aldridge said he’d be open to a coaching position next season to stay in basketball. Aldridge would be a terrific player development coach given his career as an All-NBA stretch-forward. Nash currently has two former forwards in Amar’e Stoudemire and Tiago Splitter in that role, but if the staff gets shuffled, maybe there’s an opening for him. Aldridge was teammates with Marks in Portland and has relationships with both the staff and front office from his time in San Antonio, which makes for a natural pairing.

People are going to hate this, but LaMarcus Aldridge as a player development coach...

Pretty sure Dame really wanted to play with LMA against before he retired. Could be a sort of make Dame happy kind of move.

Someone asking him about becoming a coach for the Blazers.

has zero credentials in coaching.

I'm OK with bringing back our previous player development staff. They made guys like Layman and Trent and Simons into useful players. Even Nas had improved a ton just didn't get a shot. Whoever was in charge of the youngins can return

Actually I think hiring a qualified female assistant would be a good idea and not hilarious at all.
Do you really not get what he meant by “hilarious”? Like, everyone bashing the team for passing on a woman, like it’s some anti-woman organization (and yes people think that) and they hire a woman to the staff. I would LOVE it. All the Twitter twats would have one less thing to bitch about.

Joeger might be the surprise veteran coach.
that would be awesome! I'd consider Dana Altman as an assistant but he's got a cushy gig with the Ducks I doubt he'd trade to be an assistant
