Some of the older ones I know are less interested in what you do, how much you make, what car you drive...etc. But there are a few who are still playing mind games and insecure.

I gotta learn to avoid those women though.
 
I got married at 23 and had my first kid at 24. Then had another one about two years later. Divorced two years later and married again and had a kid shortly after. Divorced 4 years later.

Now I'm married to the most amazing person on the planet! It really sucks because I can't have any children and wanted to bless her with one.

People that think their pets are kids are a pet peeve of mine.

Unless you make your kids eat out of bowls, put them outside when they annoy you, not be potty-trained, and leave them with strangers for vacations for $25/day. if that's the case, your kids are your pets.

Met my wife camping at Breitenbush hot springs when I was 6. Turned out she lived a block up the street from me. Fell in love with her when I was 17. Married her when I was 22. Our boys were born when I was 25 and 26. I'm fairly certain I haven't missed anything that could rival the adventurous and fulfilling life we've lived together as a family. And with our sons both over 30 now we are still young enough to enjoy adventures as a couple again.

To be fair, I should mention I did enough crazy shit in my late teens to be bored with partying by the time I was 21.

Being a good husband and good father was always my "goal" in life, as far back as 2nd grade at least. Most of my decisions throughout my life have been made with that in mind. It is amazing how fortunate I've been to fully realize my dream.
