Nice to see Marzy support abortion.
Why didn't you say something earlier, I know a very nice gentleman who spent winter and spring alone on his sailboat in California.

Not sure I know the fella, but he might be in the Columbia after the 4th of July.![]()
I've long ago accepted the fact that there will continue to be more and more people in the world...we live in a country that is a few hundred years old as it's defined....China ...15 thousand years of history...as I said...food and economics determine population for the most part..the point of overpopulation for me is well before there are not enough resources to support the population...my immigrant wife had one child and is a citizen...she's not the problem...teen parents are all around us and born and bred right here....they'll make babies but my son's generation has seen the cost of raising a child and the cost of living as setting the bar towards having kids pretty high...non of them seem to be rushing parenthood so far..26-27 year oldsYou can't read what the topic is.
Acropolis?
You do that you better bring back the American drunks, pedophiles and junkies from all over the globe who live overseasRight Now! Keep immigrants away. Charge 10k to get in the country. If they are IT guys make that 20K. They get paid six figure and take American jobs.
from most of your posts it should be titled....I'm not interested in any of you folks opinions because I know them alreadyYou can't read what the topic is.

They should be charged 10K to stay and if they are IT people 20K. American drunks pedophiles and junkies are found in Amsterdam, Marseille and Berlin, I'll bet. Why would they want to come back here? You do that you better bring back the American drunks, pedophiles and junkies from all over the globe who live overseas
Some I've heard are actually good people...we need to lead by example and repatriate our criminals and deadbeats...set an example for Canada and Mexico! What's your answer Marz…..you've talked about questions a lot but where's your solution?I don't even understand why most of you don't care what the answer might be.

unfortunately wild seafood mostly in the Atlantic but some over here is mercury laden...the fishing industry is moving into fish farming big time. Drift netting messed with the oceans marine population big time. Japanese have farmed tuna on their islands for a long time now...temperature controlled environment where they lower the water temp until the tuna goes to sleep...then freeze them and ship them to San Francisco for sashimi...sad that the fish population has been thinned to this point in the wild...sadder that we've polluted their feeding grounds over the centuries...fortunately we've got 23 rainbow trout in the freezer alreadyOh, I don't think I should answer the question as the answer comes from just how much people are willing to give up to provide for a greater population.
In my view we have already given up far too much, but perhaps as is normal, I am not even close to the opinion of the majority.
When there are fish in the rivers again, then we would have room for more people. Reservations for a plethora of things is very difficult to come by now, where once, reservations were not required. The list is long. But I wanted to hear the view of people that do not remember when access was unconstrained, fish for the family could easily be caught, legally.

In the Yale article I posted though food production more than doubled population increase this year...we've recently had a chain of natural disasters over the last decade that have displaced many people...that always affects the graphsNow you are getting a feel for my question and the reasons for wanting to see the opinions in quantifiable terms. More people is not a feel good thing, we have already over stressed our environment. Our combined demand has exceeded the capacity of many resource.

There is a misconception that growth is good. This is not correct. Continued growth will be the death of your current way of life. This need for growth is stemmed from greed. To have more. To be bigger than your neighbor.
You should really consider what your EPA administrator is doing to accelerate stressing of the environment.
More people is certainly a problem, but so is the behavior of the existing people*.
*Corporations are people too.
barfo
I actually support a lesser population...my son got married and bought a houseI would not attempt to argue against your statements barf. I do find it perplexing though that progressives support both, more environment protection and a greater population at the same time.
Very inconsistent in my view.
