Avatar Tutorial

Use the round brushes, sizes depend on the picture. If you are making a smaller avatar you would want a smaller brush that will not touch your player/celebrity/etc, so that they do not become "blurred." If you are making a bigger avatar, use a bigger brush.

How do you make a player have a shadow of himself.......sort of like DeeStillBallen's with Dirk.....

I am trying to make a sig for myself.

This tutorial is a big help though. My avatar might not be the greatest, or most difficult to make, but its the first one I ever made, and its simple, and more importantly, I like it.....

But now I am trying to make my own sig....and that shadow effect, where it looks like there are multiples of the same player fading into the background is a effect Id like to add to my sig.

I actaully like your avatar, that pic is awesome! As for the shadow effect, I have no clue how to do that. I know how to do it with text, but with images it's a whole different story. I think Emily knows how to do it, and I'm 100% sure purehoops knows how to do it. They can answer here about it, but I'd really like this to just stay an avatar tutorial. However, they can make a tutorial for sigs, and then I'll delete their posts hereabout it, becaue it will be in there. I hope you understand.

Emily is slamduncan21.

Sorry Vintage, I thought everyone kinda new. I like using names better than screenames. It's weird.

how do you resize it after finishing step 5/6

Resize it first, if you finish it, then resize it, it won't look good.

Weird, I have no clue. Nice job though.

for the shadow, erase the background of the bball player so that all you see is him. press ctrl+a, then ctrl+c, then ctrl+v. you should have a new layer. go over to the Layer Pallet, click on the layer of the bball player, like this:
abstract6.gif

and change the opacity by clicking the arrow next to opacity and pick the one you want:
psscanline7.gif

play around with it until you get something you like.

do any of you guys want me to write a sig tutorial?

i still cant find the blurr button

Yeah sure, make a tutorial for sigs please.

It's the 7th tool in the left row of the toolbar. It is a drop, like a drop of water. If you cannot see it, then right-click on the seventh tool and you should see three types of tools, "blur tool," "smudge tool," and a "sharpen tool."

I did everything, now it won't let me touch the opacity. I cannot click on it, it's not available. What do I do?

i'll go through it more step-by-step in my sig tutorial

i giv up on thsi avatar stuff i got my wyclef im happy...i hope the sigs r easier

Nope, the sigs only get harder. How can you not find the blur tool?

no i found the blurr but then i couldnt get the tutorial in the background i diunno how to download em

I might sound dumb or whatever, but I don't get what to do for the link on patterns and stuff...

Click on that link, the one for patterns. Then it will take you to the page, click on the pattern you want to make. I suggest making all of them, as they are all quite useful. Then just follow the steps to making the selected pattern.

How do I open a transparent image that it says I need to open?

Click File>New, and then towards the bottom should be three bubbles (under the title of "Contents"). Choose "Transparent," and press "OK."
