Houston and Portland are two teams that will be working No. 3 Nets and No. 4 Wolves hard to move up in the draft, league sources say.

VERY interesting ... Aldridge + Rudy (or more) for Favors or Cousins?

I would NOT trade LMA for a pick not named Wall

and im not really pro LMA either

LMA + Rudy + Bayless for Harris and 3rd pick (Cousins)

Now that i would do

I can see moving Rudy to the Nets in some sort of package. The new Nets owner keeps talking about international marketing for them in every interview he gives.

At this point, Rudy is not even worth a mid-first first round pick let alone a top-3 pick.

On the bright side, we have a lot more to throw at NJ or Minnesota than Houston.

OK first off ... it's Favors OR Harris (unless you want to package up Roy with Aldridge or part with a ton of bit player talent).

You're telling me we couldnt get them two for LMA Rudy and bayless + 22nd pick? come on

If you didn't realize, we are trying to move further ahead in the playoffs. We don't want to get younger.

Yes I realize what the goal is ... and with most of the rest of the team now in their 5th+ year or beyond (well beyond in Miller and Camby's cases) adding high impact youth in the form of top 3 talent is not the same as getting younger for the sake of getting younger.

I am too, but come on, i think thats a pretty fair trade

Harris is a year removed from an all-star appearance, Favors (or Cousins) have all-star potential.

Here's what we know about
Aldridge -- nice but probably a sub all-star level player
Rudy -- major disappointment and a one trick pony, role-player at best
Bayless -- young with some upside, but still a tweener and probably best as a supersub scorer versus a starting two guard or point guard

LMA, Rudy and Bayless are not going to be as highly thought of as you seem to think.

Disagree about LMA (the national perception, not your opinion, which I share). I think that throughout the league they see a skilled, jump-shooting 4/5...an poor man's Dirk, but overcoming the shooting disparity a bit by being younger and faster and able to play D. I think that has value to at least SAS, MIN, GSW and others. Not sure about NJN, though.

Just when we thought the cake was baked...

We're talking about Rod Thorn here in the case of NJ. As for Kahn in Minny, maybe he's a little less savvy. Regardless, there's a big difference between national media perception and league-wide executive and scouts' perceptions.

There is always another cake to bake my man. At some point we will eat the current cake, plus let's be honest we need cover for Oden.

with Roy's window being now, and seeing that LMA's not an effective 2nd Banana in the playoffs, and that Oden may or may never be healthy, and Miller's not a great fit...I can totally see re-tooling. If they think a guy like Turner or Cousins will be better....I can see it happening.
Unlikely, but not "insane"

I think you and I are pretty much on our own here.

Definitely a glass half empty perspective, but perhaps fair I suppose

Lateral move at best if for Cousins

meh

No, it's a risky maneuver with huge risk and a lot of upside. Basically you'd be trading the solid but underwhelming production of LMA for a potential top five 4/5 if Cousins develops into his full potential -- if the goal is championships this team needs one more big time impact player, that isn't coming in free agency, it's unlikely to be coming in a trade for an established star, and it's a longshot at best that Aldrige (and Oden from a health perspective) give us that edge.

But hey, I'm a gambler. It's go big or go home.
