Remember when people told us giving up Norm Powell for Keon Johnson was a good move?Would love to see a side by side breakdown of what Cronin has gained and lost. Like what’s the net result from all his transactions. I don’t keep up or care that much usually but it seems like the ledger is getting more and more lopsided
They’re negotiating that now but if he’s bought out he’s off the books. Grant and holiday are the only big contracts leftHuh? Still have to pay him.
I honestly don't care about the individual transactions, this team was devoid of talent, athletic ability and hope when he started, it's much better now and last year was the most enjoyable to me since 2018.How many more players does this guy need to just give up for free before you question his ineffective negotiation skills?
Cronin should not have brought him in in the first place, then?
A LOT of teams need C's, vet min is hugely unlikely IMO, would not be surprised at something close to the MLESo as I understand, whatever contract he gets subtracted from our cap?
A vet min isn't out of the question I suppose
Kris Murray the shooter who shot 27% from three last yearRemember when people told us giving up Norm Powell for Keon Johnson was a good move?
How about Josh Hart for Kris Murray?
Cronin should not have brought him in in the first place, then?
Huh? Still have to pay him.
The individual transactions largely making no sense and losing the majority of them.... are the reason we had to pay a guy with a 35 mil expiring contract to play on a different team. The ineptitude adds up.I honestly don't care about the individual transactions, this team was devoid of talent, athletic ability and hope when he started, it's much better now and last year was the most enjoyable to me since 2018.
I expect some transactions to be fantastic (Deni, Tou), some to be meh (DA, Ant) and some bad (GP2, Grant). I don't expect perfection from anyone.
Is this team more interesting and exciting than the one he started with? You bet. Is it more fun to watch? Yes. Am I hopeful for the future? I am.
Yes I know. Said the same above. Tax MLE is my projected ceiling for what he gets. Maybe it puts us under the first apron.https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/02/hoops-rumors-glossary-buyouts-3.html
Based on this, the amount he gives up doesn't count against the cap.
So lets say Ayton gets a tax MLE offer (5.7M). If the buyout was also the 5.7M amount, that's capspace the Blazers get back to use.
Considering we got nothing for Ayton and we had to take on Jrues long ass contract, I don’t think Grant has any trade value.I think we trade Grant tomorrow.
Lol come on. You seriously dont believe this do you?the price you pay to get a guy like Toumani & get rid of Nurk
Yes I know. Said the same above. Tax MLE is my projected ceiling for what he gets. Maybe it puts us under the first apron.
Seriously. Thought had not occurred to me that our idiot GM in a likely lame duck year can possibly do this.I swear to god if I hear the word “stretch….”
Isn't it triggered by the Holiday trade? We are already way under the first apron.
Just feels like teams make trades all the time for guys who “nobody wants” and get at least something out of it. I mean how much value does Porzingis have, being hurt all the time and making $30m? A couple second rounders and G Niang is better than nothing.
Oh I think we are gonna have to attach compensation for sure, but I think he’s gone.Considering we got nothing for Ayton and we had to take on Jrues long ass contract, I don’t think Grant has any trade value.
Isn't it triggered by the Holiday trade?
NotedNope. 23M under the first apron before. 18-ish after.
I believe we would have been hard capped if the jrue/ant deal goes as is, it probably hasn't because Portland is not ready for that yetNope. 23M under the first apron before. 18-ish after.
