The ESPN story says that several teams called Joe about Ayton & Joe had nothing but positive things to say about him. Which further proves that Jason Quick is a douche who wrote his slam piece on DA to get clicks.
It wasn’t just Quick reporting that though.

Ayton’s skillset and reliability are two very different things that don’t always go hand in hand, Perkins said, per ESPN’s First Take.

“The word around the league is not good about DeAndre Ayton. The Portland Trail Blazers were happy as hell that they got to this point with him,” Perkins said. “Right now he’s been labeled as a diva, as a cancer in the locker room, and if I’m DeAndre Ayton, I gotta have a moment. I gotta have someone speak the real to me because we’re talking about a former number one pick that didn’t work out with the Phoenix Suns, the team that drafted him number one.”

it was also well documented he had issues in PHX as well

Would be messed up if it's true and the Lakers suddenly back out on their part.
Since we got Ayton to give up $10 million I'm fine with it.

Was more a conspiracy when we didn't know Ayton gave back anything let alone $10 million.

Only Vanderbilt is a multi-year contract, and he is on the same timeline as Grant. You'd essentially be switching a $35 million contract for a $15 million contract. That's a huge difference.

Regardless, I think this rumor is just fantasy.
But he's a much more useful player. Grant that is.

not sure that means anything. I doubt Cronin would trash any player to other GM's.

the biggest gauge of how Cronin feels about Ayton is that he's paying Ayton 25.6M to not be a Blazer

25.6 to be a laker....even worse

I do believe affect (verb, action word) is appropriate and correct. Effect is a noun.

Can someone verify?
There are different ways of looking at it but one way is to think of "affect" as the cause and "effect" as the result. Blazers news affects fans' emotions. The effect of Blazers news among fans is often insanity.

HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES MUST WE TEACH YOU???

Affect is the verb meaning "to alter or bring about a change". (It is also a noun meaning expression of emotion, most commonly used in the phrase "low affect")
Effect is the noun meaning what a cause produces. (It is also, confusingly, a verb meaning "to bring about" - as in the phrase "to effect change".)

Let us all take a moment to celebrate the detriment of the Los Angeles Lakers.

There’s nothing in Ayton which has to yet to be seen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a “contract year”, and I won’t be sad that it would be somewhere else.

Let his issues be somebody else’s problem. We have a young group which is more team developmentally minded. I’ll take our future at the 5 without him, TBH.

Thank goodness really…

All I want to know is who wins the Ayton - Clingan match up. Can Ayton get a rebound against Clingan? Can Clingan (or our forwards) slow down Ayton's mid-range game? Will Ayton get Clingan in foul trouble by going inside on him (and getting a few BS veteran/Lakers calls from the refs)? Now that he's a Laker, I want our defense to crush his spirit.

If reports are true that several teams called about Ayton, why couldn’t Cronin make a deal with anybody? Hard to believe we couldn’t trade him to someone.

Not paying attention are we?

Was away from my phone….any word on where DA is going to wind up yet?

How do you think this move will affect/effect US this season?

More minutes for Clingan, tho it's not like Ayton played a ton of games last season.
