he only played 16 minutes last night....coach decision or injury?

Injury according to the googles. Back spasms. Tho Im sure the Lakers and their fans are quickly realizing what Phoenix fans knew and we found out.

at least the Lakers have the relief of paying him 8M/year for 2 years. Portland paid him 33M/year for 2 years; and is paying him 25M this year to play for another team

which team is getting the best return: the one paying him 8M to play for them, or the one paying him 25M to get out of town?

Honestly as crazy as it sounds I think we have the better end of those two deals.

Ayton isn't even a replacement level quality of player but needs touches/minutes/etc. I've never been an addition by subtraction proponent but this might be the one exception I'm on board with.

Win win, I guess. Ayton was the price of getting toumani, but once it was clear he is standing in the way of DC, it was time to let him go, it also allowed Portland to sign dame without tax implications.

At $8m, he is worth it for the Lakers, so everyone should be happy

The Lakers are probably asking themselves why they didn’t spend $8 million on someone else, because they have to play Ayton in order to benefit. We don’t.

i bet Tou would prefer to have the money cost in Ayton that allowed us to pick him up. :)
