Hopefully he will be what Greg Oden was supposed to be for us. The enthusiasm is very similar. I only said the name once so no jinx!He said he feels like was just drafted. He is excited for sure.
We also didn't draft Ayton, so the curse is bypassed.Hopefully he will be what Greg Oden was supposed to be for us. The enthusiasm is very similar. I only said the name once so no jinx!
Even better! We also didn't draft Ayton, so the curse is bypassed.
It's great to see the energy and enthusiasm - hope it lasts and I hope the whole team embraces the changes and the new beginnings!Ayton looks like he just got out of jail from Phoenix. He’s EXCITED to be here. Hopefully the the change of scenery will motivate him. I can see a Markkanen type revival.

I can’t believe how many times a game he fumbles the ball. He has the worst hands for a big. Also when he rushes his shot, he usually come up short.
Not sure I agree with that? He sure sounded like it was important to him when he was first traded here. I do wonder if he found out it was going to be just as much work here as anywhere else and now he simply doesn't know that it's what he wants to work at?Ayton does not really care about basketball, at all.
Just a rough patch, getting back from being out with injury, on a team that fucking sucks, still putting up around 13 and 10 on the season, shooting almost 54% even though most of the plays on this team are isos that don't really set him up or get him the ball where he likes it. I didn't ever think Ayton was a max player but he is a valuable player and right now we don't have to sweat the salary.
I think there was one team that actually WANTED him at his contract, and that was Indy. The Suns didn't want to lose him for nothing, so they winced and matched.I would trade him before we trade Grant, almost, just because there might still be somebody in this league who thinks they can make something of him, but the more he plays the more obvious it will be that you can't.
You think 13 and 10 is good for a max player. Are you stuck in 1997?
Did we really expect him to play like a max player?
I know we didn't expect him to get outplayed by a two-way player!
He makes it a lot worse on himself by constantly opening his mouth.
Meh. We traded one mentally weak player for another, but got more talent and a better fit at the position. We also got Camara. I'm fine with the deal.
neither cronin nor billups did anything to temper those expectations. The problem is that for some reason the media was hyping people up like Ayton was gonna come in and average 25 and 10. So people had oddly high expectations going into the season.
