Finally!

Gotta love our first round picks the last two years:

Victor Claver: out of the country
Elliott Williams: two knee surgeries
Luke Babbitt: d-Leaguer

Meanwhile, we could've had any of the following:

Taj Gibson
Omri Casspi
Rodrigue Beaubois
Jodie Meeks
Dejaun Blair
Trevor Booker
Landry Fields

All of whom could help our team.

Landry fields isn't a good one to throw out there. He wasn't on ANYONES raider and no one but the knicks would have picked him.

KP missed a hell of a lot more than he hit during the draft. With the exception of Batum, he is 0fer if you believe Patterson was the man behind the 06' draft

TRAIL BLAZERS ASSIGN LUKE BABBITT
TO IDAHO STAMPEDE
Rookie joins Portland’s NBA Development League affiliate

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned rookie forward Luke Babbitt to the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho.

Babbitt, 21, has logged six points, four rebounds, a blocked shot and 30 minutes over eight games with the Trail Blazers.

Babbitt becomes the 14th NBA player assigned to the D-League this season.

Portland acquired the University of Nevada product from Minnesota in a draft day trade on June 24.

Re: Boise Bound!

Sorry guys, this is the official press release, didn't know you guys already started a thread on this.

Re: Boise Bound!

For a moment there I thought you were going down with him to document his progress!

Blazers GM Rich Cho says Luke Babbitt will play in six games with Idaho Stampede, starting tonight. Should return to the Blazers on Dec. 20

I'd rather have him playing in the D League than sitting on the bench. I'm cool with this move, all things considered.

Lots of guys have gone to the D league and turned out ok. Some have actually turned out pretty good. I think this provides the Blazers with multiple positives. First of all it allows them to see him play and evaluate. Secondly, it allows him to play and get experience. Thirdly, it allows other teams to see him and evaluate.

It's not a bad thing at all, just wish he would have been able to help us this year, the way an injured Martell could have.

Landry fields isn't a good one to throw out there. He wasn't on ANYONES raider and no one but the knicks would have picked him.

He should've been. He was a damn good player at Stanford. He's turning out to be a good NBA players as well. A SG that threatens to grab 10 rebounds on any given night and solid D.

Maybe Antoine Walker can give him a couple pointers on shooting the 3 ball.

Maybe Luke can give 'Toine some financial advice!

Hmm, didn't see that coming.

Babbitt makes a jumper but Dakota is ahead. Time out.

Almost all seats are empty. Players don't clog the middle in this league.

Armon Johnson, on buddy Luke Babbitt going to the D-League: "I'm already missing him, man. I missed him when we came in this morning."

Babbitt and Luke Jackson in! Antoine Walker not in, I think. Dakota still up. This is the game thread--anyone else watching?

Walker takes the rebound from teammate Jackson. Luke to the FT line. Babbitt active.
