Some talk that maybe Sen Manchin will flip, too.
That would be a big vote for repeal of Obamacare. He's in danger of losing the seat in 2018 as a Democrat.

I think if he flips, he votes the way leadership wants. If he wants good committee assignments. There's also some talk of McCain flipping. I wouldn't hold my breath on either one.
And a flip wouldn't necessarily mean he changes his vote on Obamacare.
barfo
Manchin flipped today for all practical counts.
No way what so ever he gets re elected if he does not. The ship is going down, and he has to get off too. He can claim he waited until the water floated him off, but he's off.
Nothing's impossible, but I don't know that Manchin is all that close to flipping. Word is that McConnell and the Republicans didn't even attempt to talk him into voting with them, which is actually remarkable. Considering they knew they were on a razor's edge, if Manchin were really so much on the fence that he's seriously considering changing affiliations, he should have been a prime target to at least engage with on casting his vote for Obamacare repeal.
So either he's not really that willing to switch to the Republican side on policy, or McConnell and Republican leadership is incompetent.
The Democrats haven't raised that little money in a July since 2007, when the party raised $3.4 million.
And 2008 was a total disaster for Democrats. All they did was win the Presidency in a landslide, the House and a supermajority in the Senate.
Oh, but that was with a deeply unpopular Republican President in the White House....
Good luck with that.
Good luck with 2008? Thanks, I guess.
