The entire point, which you missed, was that people within a larger group shouldn't be blamed or judged based on what somebody else in their larger group did in the past. Stop being so bigoted. Thanks.

This is a thread started to bash on the Mormon religion. The OP belongs to another religion, which he claims has no parallels to the Mormons. Some of us take issue with that. Are you really defending what the Catholics have done historically? Do you really think death justifies death? Are you really planning on comparing the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and the conquest of the Americas to wars that the United States has been involved in?

You're not close to getting it. I never defended the historic acts of Catholics, I just pointed out your hypocrisy. I'm not defending what the Catholics have done historically, because I don't have to. It doesn't define who Catholics are today, especially in the United States. That is the point. You're so far from understanding that point, it's pathetic.

If you can't see the connection that groups of people have gone to war and killed other people for various reasons, I don't know what to say to you. You seem to think that people connected to those historic groups should feel ashamed or guilty, unless of course, it applies to you.

You just saw someone bashing on the Catholics and freaked out. Why don't you go back and reread the whole thing from start to finish. You haven't once addressed the fact that my post was in response to MickZagger. You just keep on focusing on how I'm bringing up the Catholics and their dark history, so I must be bigoted.

I would be hypocritical if I WAS Mormon and I was throwing stones at the Catholics, but I'm not. I'm not a Mormon. I'm not a Catholic. I'm not a part of any religion. I brought up the Catholics because MickZagger started this thread and MickZagger brought up Catholicism. Not me.
