if it's to the point that Simmons is sitting out and Philly is taking action against him, the trade value of Simmons tanks even more than it already has. That will be ugly staining anyone involved. I think Morey would be an idiot to let it get that ugly
Morey is a stat guy that thinks he's the best gm in the league, his ego wont allow him to just trade Ben now for a pkg that would appear to the public he lost. He knows the GM's around the league will be more desperate to shake things up after 15-20 games.
He may feel the variance between what he gets now versus from desperate team is to great and he's willing to sit on it, and Ben could also change his position come back and get an agreement from Morey that they will work out a trade that best for both parties. Again, he referenced the Rogers impasse that got resolved.

I think that's a made up fan wet dream. How often are trades made 15-20 games into a season?

Whatever, how many big trades are made during fall camp or even pre season. Your guess is as good as mine!

I'm at the point now where i hope Simmons remains, against his will, in Philly, and causes the biggest shitstorm with Embiid. Both guys seem like tools in many ways. I hope the smug Morey-on enjoys what he has helped fester. Then they can change their name to the 86ers.

Yeah the teams that would decide to do a trade 20 games into the season would be fine waiting until the trade deadline. Will Philly be fine waiting until the trade deadline? I think they will accept it if they thinks its best but I'd imagine they'd much rather do a trade sooner.

Philly also probably sees that they could've got an all star and picks for Simmons 6-12 months ago... so its going to be difficult for them to accept taking less. Eventually will they believe the offers are not going to improve and they have to get what they can? I'd think owners flinch before Morey. Ultimately the owners push for what they want.

Some offers might disappear as well. If the Blazers are a top3 team in the west I don't think they will do a CJ for Simmons trade. Already they have gone past an opportunity to bring Simmons into a full training camp, so as each day goes on he is worse less to the Blazers.

Another aspect to consider, if Philly gets off to a bad start it will put a lot of pressure on them to do a deal and move forward so they aren't wasting a year of Embiids prime.

But if they play great, it will make other teams question just how important Simmons was to the success of that team. If he can sit and the team is just as good why trade much of anything for value, especially with him being the first player to ever do this type of disruptive holdout.

Should be interesting drama in the weeks and months ahead.

pretty much a lose lose they have birthed for themselves.
Its fantastic to watch!!!!

Never been a Phili fan of any sport really

plus that damn horse cop led my brother and i straight into the heart of the ghetto, being out of towners, just for a good cheese stake. (It was damned good though, even if the dirty shack of a place was all boarded up with crack dealers hanging outside)
Fuck Phili. Or better yet its awesome to watch them fuck themselves. LOL!

you can only make money when you sell too though. Im pushing 50 in a couple years. How long before its a lose lose not being able to enjoy any type of profit before im in a wheelchair with oxygen? Lol.

Average down! Hopefully STORMX gets more traction when the games start.

thats what im thinking. Its just local news now but as we start travelling and advertising on the uni’s…

but if i lose money im suing you!

the american way! Lol

We just exercised the 4th year Rookie scale option on Nassir Little. Interesting timing, might mean nothing other than our faith in him, I mean I would have already exercised it. Could it be he is being included in a Simmons package with CJ? Grasping at straws here, I don't have anything rock-solid like Instagram likes.

The deadline is Oct 18th, that's probably why.

ill take it!

Maybe he reports, demands the 25% money ($8 million ish). Then goes back to LA.

Forces the 6ers to pay him. The fines aren't signifiant until he starts missing significant games.

What if at some point he shows up to games but never practices or is around the team? Would Doc play him? That would piss off young guys who put in all the work. But playing poorly or playing spot minutes off the bench hurts his trade value. It would be quite a circus.
