Doesn't bother me a bit (ignore post above)thanks, @Rastapopoulos prolly isn't happy about his polls getting combined but it had to be done.
I don't think Cleveland would have to agree if Portland wanted to lift the protections.if you give Stephen A credit for actually have a source (probably too much credit), does anybody believe his source would be west coast, as in Portland?
that CJ + RoCo + firsts for Simmons sure looks like the source could be Morey still trying to gin up the return for Simmons. Or possible Simmons' agent trying to grease the wheels for a trade. It sure doesn't look like something that Olshey would offer
another thing, and people more versed in the CBA can't correct this: it sounds like Cleveland is one of the serious suitors for Simmons. Well, in order for Portland to give up firsts for Simmons, they have to get Cleveland to agree to lift the protections on the first traded for Nance. Why would Cleveland agree if they suspected that would give Portland the inside track?

I don't want to give up Roco.
CJ and a First. That's reasonable.
I'd give up CJ and one of Nas/Ant/Elleby/Brown + a 1st. No more than that though
Cj + RoCo + 2 firsts was always my absolute highest I’d go, unhappy in the extreme to do it, but still barely willing. I’d much rather trade Nas than RoCo. That said, maybe this clears the way for Nas to develop and we definitely need to develop Nas or trade him for a star. Im hoping this is a signal from Morey and Olshey bites on a reduced package that is similar. Preferably no picks involved or minus RoCO.I don't want to give up Roco.

Why does Philly have to trade him now? They wont unless they get a haul now and that isn't happening. Morey wont hesitate to wait a couple months or so while Ben doesn't play to gain a better deal. They'll still be good without him and more teams will get serious after the season starts.
Kyrie Irving? Dirk had Terry too....except Dirk with the Mavs and LeBron with the Cavs.
That pick went to Chicago.I don't think Cleveland would have to agree if Portland wanted to lift the protections.
If we give up 2 firsts, that means (effectively) we've given up FIVE firsts for Simmons and Nance (four for Simmons alone).Cj + RoCo + 2 firsts was always my absolute highest I’d go, unhappy in the extreme to do it, but still barely willing. I'm not sure I like this trade for anyone other than the Wolves who would be vastly better. I feel like we might actually be worse with this trade as our defense woes would possibly increase. Our offense would probably be better, but jeez I dunno. I'd much, much rather go for CJ + for Simmons.
I really doubt it's legitimately two firsts, more likely 2023 swap and 2024 first. We also have to end up with Maxey, Thybulle or even Seth for the trade to work. All of that being said, Stephen A.'s sources are likely Philly sources since he's a Philly native. So if we are making a similar offer the Philly source would inflate it to try and get bigger offers from the other teams involved. If we give up 2 firsts, that means (effectively) we've given up FIVE firsts for Simmons and Nance (four for Simmons alone).
Too high.
