Simmons, Harris, Curry and (2) #1 picks and (1) #1 swap at Blazer’s discretion

for Dame, RoCo and Blevins

then trade CJ, Nurkic and (2) #1 picks for KAT

looks like you created a team worse than what you dismantled

Portland would be completely stupid to trade Dame and try to maintain their mediocrity. If they trade Dame, trade for as many picks and 1st or 2nd year players (and expiring contracts). Do the same with CJ, Nurkic, RoCo, and Powell. Nance too. The best asset the Blazers would have is the opportunity to suck for a couple of years or so, and possibly getting 2 or 3 high draft picks

but if it comes to trading Dame, that fucking shithead Olshey should absolutely not be the guy that gets to do it

hmmm - would this be worse than what we put on the floor now?

KAT / Zeller
Harris / Nance / Brown
Simmons / Nas / Snell
Powell / Ant
Curry / Smith

What kind of question is this honestly? If someone asked you for 10 million dollars, would you give it to them?
That’s a better package than whatever was mentioned on the blazers postgame radio.

Also, how much money do I have? Because I don’t have 10M right now…

Do I have 50M? What do they want the 10M for? Are you going to buy drugs with it?

and...he was leader of a team that won 67 games and finished with best record in the league, by a mile

Blazers might be lucky to win 46 games and survive the play-in
In which case Dame wouldn’t win MVP anyway. But you don’t need to score 24+ to win MVP.

I don't think they'll trade Brown, but the only reason it's being talked about is because he and Tatum both need shots. You know who doesn't need shots but is really good at everything else?

Buck Williams?

You can't mean Simmons. One of the reasons he hates Philly is that Embiid gets more shots that he does.

Completely. Just a way to hold out and still get paid. He will most likely make a miraculous recovery after he is traded due to the "positive environment and team support" in whatever city he ends up in.

Sorry dude, but that is naive. Having gotten away with this crap once, why would he stop and become a good citizen at his next job? What we are seeing is a preview of the rest of his career.

KAT / Zeller
Harris / Nance / Brown
Simmons / Nas / Snell
Powell / Ant
Curry / Smith

correction:

KAT / Zeller
Harris / Nance / Brown
Simmons / Nas / Snell
Powell / Ant
Curry / Smith

[Dame, Blevins & RoCo to Philly
CJ & Nurkic + pics to Minny]

Rebuilding via a bunch of picks rarely results in a cake after baking (Pelicans? OKC? Houston?)

Thats solid!

So: the Sixers are top of the East and playing better to start the season than in many years. Is this good or bad for Morey? Good: it means he doesn't have to rush to get something for Simmons. Bad: it makes Simmons look BAD. If losing Simmons is addition by subtraction, why trade for him?

Did you see their record last season with Ben Simmons? There's a body of work that shows he's been conducive to winning.

Passing along a rumor:

I am hearing that Bos/Phi could be done soon with the Simmons for Brown deal. That's a no brainer. BOS needs a primary ballhander who can balance the floor with Horford which they both did in PHI. Tatum needs to be the ace dog which he will be without question. Brown is needed in Phi.

SMH. If Simmons resents being 2nd fiddle to Embiid, why would he be happy being 2nd fiddle to Tatum?

I think it's more that he didn't like the fit with Embiid. Both needed space on the interior and Embiid obviously got preference. It's a better fit with Tatum, as Tatum can play on the perimeter with Simmons ducking into the paint for dunks and post-ups. In theory.

That seems like such an overpay for Boston. Why would they give up brown for Simmons? They are nowhere close to having the same value.

On the court, they're probably pretty similar value. Narratively, Simmons is "at his lowest value" with all the uproar, but front offices don't care that much about narrative. They care about on court talent and fit. Simmons is one of the most gifted defenders in basketball, one of the best fast break offensive players in basketball and one of the best passers in the half-court. He's also a great slasher and post player. The only thing Brown does definitively better is shoot--which matters, obviously. But I don't think it's at all reasonable to say that, talent-wise, they're not comparable.

And for all we know, Phialdelphia might be tossing something in, like a first round pick or something. Assuming this rumor is even true.

it could also be that the Celtics decided that Tatum and Brown were too redundant in their styles and usage; then decided to choose the better player. It might be debatable who is better between the two because Brown has been much better this season so far. But it easily could be that after a couple of years, Boston has decided Tatum and Brown are too much alike in strengths, styles, and weaknesses and they needed a more complementary roster

if so, good on them for making the choice after 2-3 years that the Blazers haven't made in 7 years

not sure how well Simmons and Smart will fit though

simmons is a much better player than smart

if theyre poor fit, they will move smart, simple as that... youre not gonna turn down player like simmons cause hes potentially bad fit with smart lol

didn't say they would turn it down. I was just noting how the fit would be with Smart. Pretty similar to the concerns about how Simmons would fit with Nurkic

Smart can't be traded all season. Just signed an extension.

Another update on the sentiment of the Sixers board lol
