Jason Kidd, arguably the best point guard in the league.. but do you think he is? why/why not? who is?

yeah i would say baron davis is the best out there right now he does everything passes and shoots. but then again both kidd and davis has two different game styles i personally like baron davis' game much better cause he brings more to the table as all around game.

Bibby is a great pg guard. But I have to say that his play doesn't elevate the teams play level. Like Baron and Kidd. Bibby and tony parker are quite the same type of player.

How can you say Baron Davis' game is better all-around when he doesnt even come close to touching JKidd's triple doubles each season. Davis can't rebound or assist as well as Kidd. Baron scores more, but that's his fault as much as a strength. When he gets hot, he's no longer a point gaurd, he's a shooting gaurd. He'll jack up a bunch of contested threes and doesn't play smart. Yes, Kidd scoring would add to his game, but the Nets lose more when he's holding the scoring load because he doesn't get others involved. Are you talking about Steve Francis or Baron, Baron doesn't do that, if he's going to shoot he's going to shoot, he doesn't waste time.
I think it's Kidd, but Baron will surpass him maybe next year, out of all the elite PG's, Kidd and Baron are the best defenders, and Baron will likely surpass Kidd in that area mainly because Kidd is getting older and won't be as quick.

hmmm.. to me, point guards don't really have to score much, i say it doesn't really matter.. i'd rather have an assisting point guard than a scoring point guard.. because if your point guard is scoring a lot, you might as well put him at shooting guard, because he's not distrubuting as much to his teammates..
i also think Kidd is the best in the league, because mostly of his all around game and how he makes people look so good.. i mean look, he could even make Brian Scalabrine look good for a quarter, or a game..
but yeah, the best offensive pointguard is probably Stephon Marbury or Baron Davis..

i'm not sure about this year if Kidd will be himself though, because of his Knee Surgery, and his aging.. but i have a feeling that he'll have a great season, but still not near to 60% sure about that

Kidd is still the best. In the open court, he's awesome. He's starting to
show his age a bit. Since he doesn't have a very good jump shot, people
back off him and force him to shoot. This really takes away from his effectiveness.

Whats all this talk about Jason Offense compared to Baron Davis, and other PG. Ppl should be looking at the defense and most highly of all: Leadership. It does not matter what type of leader you are, what you do, etc, so long as you get certain goal accomplished. Kidd gets win accomplished, and he has proven it. I don't how exactly how he does it, but I see the restult.
Kidd is the best defending point guard in the league (I am talking about pure point guards). Baron Davis might get more steals because of his athletesism, but Kidd, when on top of his game and heathly is a far better defender than Davis.He shuts the other point guard down in, the traditional way (stay between your man and the basket. Yeh Baron Davis could try to play like that, but he is a help defender, who goes after steals (when a pass is thrown cross court.
Besides that, Baron does not get wins done. I don't know how he does it, but he does not win

I agree with you on that its becoming a shoot first pass later point guard. all the point guards what to convert to shooting guards like Iverson remember when he came in he was a pg and then he wanted to shoot more and became a converted sg i remember him and he had som passing skill he could have been really good if it stayed a pg and shoot when he had to but he got greedy. Also penny hardaway he i remember watching him in orlando and i remember watching him play and saying to myself this kid got everything he could shoot, rebound and pass (i remember him passing to Shaq, Nick anderson, Dennis Scott, and Horace Grant orlando exciting to watch and they will once again be excititng to with their new lineup hope fully grant can comeback and provide off the bench and now they have more then one player to watch. Instead of watching just McGrady. Now i can watch Francis Mobley, Hill(maybe), gooden, howard, nelson, and garrity since the team looks more evened out each player can contribute. Watching some of these teams will be fun to watch now its worth getting NBA league pass.
