That's what I find the oddest part about it. It's not like it was one-sided with her. She took plenty of personal shots here. I guess the idea is to cry to the mods behind the scenes, while continuing to goad the poster in the public forum. It's a chickenshit approach to posting, IMO. No wonder nobody is confessing to whining to the mods about her. It's embarrassing.

So she got banned for one thread? Every single long-time poster active in this thread, outside of perhaps Sly, has had a similar thread where they went hard at other posters. If I'm incorrect, I apologize, but I can think of personal battles the didn't involve me from many of you. Hell, I've had my full name posted by someone with a lot of power on this board who has been active in this thread. I also had another person of intert00b power literally mock the health of my daughter for 2 years with their avatar, and then use it against me when I'd call them on it like I was in the wrong.

Many of us here are highly opinionated people who hold strong opinions, and aren't afraid of confrontation. This place would be really fucking lame if everybody thought the same, and there was one big clique of like-minded posters. That's kind of what I see happening now, but that eventually happens in most long-time communities. Banning new posters who do offer insight without any sort of suspension isn't exactly a great way to grow a forum. I happen to think that pretty much everybody here is probably a nice person in real life, by the way.

But your post brings up something people aren't grasping, at least as I've gathered from the mods: it's not that she disagreed, it was how she constantly escalated the conversation when others disagreed with her. Like I said, I can't say how it was the last couple of weeks because I was ignoring many threads because of her posts, but she was a reason I've mostly been absent (I've been pretty ill and slammed at work so I didn't have much free time, but when I did, I didn't care to spend it sorting through the posts that weren't annoying versus those that were).

I'm of the opinion that only grossly inappropriate conduct should be ban-worthy, and the only thing I've seen here that I would call a legitimate reason to ban someone is when the TPup fans were spamming the board with penis. As has been pointed out, there is an ignore function. I would also expect the Mystery Men who whined to get BF banned to start posting more, and posting strictly about basketball.

Not really. Most of it was in jest. Probably the one time I got pissed was when Zags and I got into it. Pretty much any time you've told me I've been worked up, I really haven't been. People who really know me know I have low-filter, few boundaries, and a razor tongue. So I pretty much push a lot of buttons that are pretty much inappropriate that most dont unless they're pissed off. So I see why you might think I'm worked up at times, but odds are, I'm not. My one boundary I really try to steer clear of is people's kids. I can't say I've been 100% there, but its my one boundary (as its the one thing that really gets me going).

Totally agree.

I'm against banning in general, though years of mixum grew tiresome. I, along with a couple others, were pretty vocal in bringing you back (and under the real name). I won't advocate for bannings, but I also just dont care enough to complain about the ban when someone is really annoying. I get both sides of the equation here, though (why BF was banned and why people are upset).

My 5-year old knows how to spell "friendly". Such poor spelling is atrocious - I'd never allow her to visit this forum. I hate for it to confuse her at such an impressionable age. So much for being "family freindly".
