So... they're keeping everybody out at least until 2026? Who's gonna be back first out of
Jrue
Matisse
Scoot
Wesley
??

(Imagine having all of those four. And that's without Lillard still.)

Scoot injured his hamstring in late September. An injury with a non-surgical recovery according to Portland. The original prognosis was 4-8 weeks recovery till re-evaluation. It's now the 13th week since the injury. Supposedly, he's been doing some non-contact drills. For basketball, I'm not sure what that means exactly. Sounds like some kinds of motion exercises but with nobody close to him during. Which also sounds like he's not close to healed yet

it's been about 90 days. According to these links, that would make Scoot's hamstring injury the 3rd worst in years in terms of missed days:

*************************************************************************************************

it has now been about 38 days since Jrue strained his right hamstring. According to the links that would be around the 4th longest recovery but with the recent evidence that a weakened calf can lead to a torn Achilles, I'd expect the recovery times will start getting a lot longer

**********************************************************************************************

from reading links, I wouldn't expect Wesley to return till the first part of February. Might be the same for Thybulle but he could be back much sooner if it was a minor tear and surgery

What is the rate of injuries that occurred when returning too soon?
I'm fine with them taking as long as necessary for players to come back. Besides that it forces players to show up (it's kind of has forced Deni and Shaedon to take on more of a role than they would otherwise), I'd rather not risk either of those two (Jrue and Scoot) getting re-hurt or worse yet, having a significantly worse injury.

It sucks from a fan standpoint, but I think there's a reason why Damian tore his Achilles last year, and same with Haliburton.

Jrue has a calf strain. In every single instance of this injury, my directive would be for that player to get to 100% before playing again.
Jrue should take as much time as he needs.

Freakin, sweet.

Can we get an update on Scoot's health? C'mon John, what are we paying you for?
Still out “indefinitely”. He may just miss the whole damn season at this point. Non-contact workouts at present.

At what point can we start signing people from the D-League? I mean, aren't you required to dress more players than we have left?

Fuck it, just dress the Remix in Blazers jerseys and send 'em out there.

I would rather see a guy from the Remix than Murray anyways. This is an excellent draft by all accounts.

Imagine if it was back when there were only 12 men on an active roster. Oof.

With 17 on the official roster, minus 2 for Dame and Scoot, that leaves 9 "healthy" bodies right now.
I think they can bring up their D-league players anyways, right?

Who was our last game against? At a couple points, we had 4 REMIX guys out there with Toumani. UNREAL!

I disagree.
Blazers are currently in the 10th seed. last play in position. Both the Mavs and Clippers are behind them. Both the Mavs and the Clippers will pass them. There is no team currently ahead of the Blazers that they will pass. Maybe the Grizzlies but I doubt that.
This season is over except some fun games and maybe some inspired play at times.

Wow reading the facts that we are currently in the tenth spot and therefore the play-in then ignoring the facts that we're 3 1/2 games behind an ancient Warriors team for the eighth seed and finally calling time of death on this season with 50 games and the trade deadline still ahead of us.

I don't think that's just bold, I think regardless of if you end up right or wrong it's just a bad call. You're ignoring too many possibilities.

If big IF we can get healthy I definitely think we are a play in team. If season continues with this many injuries and playing G league 2 way players then we are definitely a lottery team. Sadly I’m ok with either. I’ll watch my Blazers even with g league players just to watch some of the young guys develop

I actually think both would be the best result this season. We make the play-ins as a 9 or 10 seed, we get our young guys some experience with one win but lose the second game and remain in the lotto. It's also what I think we'll do. Obviously if the health of the team gets worse we won't do it but I think we'll get everyone back that's currently injured and expected back.

Nah. This season will have a few more good games but it's pretty evident they don't have the horses to stay in this race. Too many injuries and the trade deadline is coming.

I understand that Dallas lucked out last year and the Hawks did it the year before but to think lottery picks 1-4 will fall to a team that far down the line again just isn't reasonable. After Jan the Blazers need to pick a lane. Unfortunately that lane most likely will be tanking again.

I just want our young guys to get some experience playing in games that actually matter and I think this draft is pretty deep.

I do agree with that in principal. The games matter right now. They need to be playing. I think we have seen a real improvement with Shaedon. I also think you are seeing some great things from Clingan that might not show on the stat sheet but he is getting better and stronger. Seems like almost a lost season for Scoot but lets hope he can get in there and show some growth. Tou has had some struggles but he has never stopped doing what he does best and that is playing hard with energy. Deni has taken another step and he looks to be getting even more confidence every game.
Lots to be happy about for sure.
