From RealGM
it was suggested on the trade board by a non-Blazer fan:

CJ to Philly for Markele Fultz & Robert Covington. I'd do that trade, no hesitation, but I doubt Philly would

what do people think about that one?
I definitely wouldn't.

Two chances of a deal like this, slim and none.
Olshey isn’t going to trade a player of CJs caliber who is signed for another 4 years(right?) for parts and to get rid of Evan turners contract which expires in two years anyway along with a. Bunch of other shit contracts.
You would HAVE to get Middleton back.

The whole purpose of this page (I think, right @BonesJones) is to see what other teams think of our players and get a better understanding of what kind of return we could get in a CJ trade. We aren't basing it on whether or not Olshey would do it. It's also fun to laugh at other team's fans.

Maybe this would have been possible 3 months ago but not anymore. The only way Philly might even consider it for a second is if they get LeBron as CJ might fit better as a shooter than Fultz who needs the ball in his hands but would never see it as LeBron and Simmons would be battling over ball handling duties. Covington maybe becomes expendable in that situation too but I still doubt that one.

As you said, more moves would need ot be made, but this isnt a bad start.

Get that 1st as well form CJ somehow.

Then trade Boban and our two picks to try to move up in the draft? or Leonard and Boban and one pick for a guy on a smaller contract.

If we could do the above and then turn my second move over, we free up a ton of cap space and then could sign players to fill in the voids.

Only concern is signing players to fill in the void. Will they sign here and how much more than their value will they need to do so?

I like Boban and our two first to move up in the draft. Hell toss in leonard too if possible.

Boban is a fun player to watch but he has zero value in trades just like Meyers. Absolute best case scenario would be Leonard and Boban for Miles Plumlee (little smaller terrible contract than those two together) and no picks or something like Leonard and Boban for Joakim Noah and 37. Both of those are pretty bad though.

Exactly.

OMG Fucking Brew Hoop man, they are like where we were a week ago, ha ha.

Basically we trade Lillard to the Spurs so Milwaukee gets Kawhi Leonard and we get Middleton and Bledsoe. I made a comment on there that this type of crap would be like us devising a trade in which we got Greek Freak for CJ and Tobias Harris from LAC or something like that.

I saw an Orlando board that suggested different trades for Vucevic and Fournier and one of them was for CJ. I'd still rather keep CJ unless there was a 3rd team willing to take Vucevic for a good wing or a pick in the 10-17 range. Still not in the range to get me to let go of CJ yet though.

Was it CJ for Both Fournier and Vucevic because that’s kind of an intriguing deal, not sure Id do it but I would think about it.

No thanks. Fournier mighty be a worse defender than CJ. The package needs to office a lotto pick and/or a two-way player.

Why? I'm a bench role, Davis is almost as good as Vucevic, and Vucevic has stated before he doesn't want to come off the bench. Fournier is worse than CJ in almost every aspect of the game.. I wouldn't even think about that for a second.

That's so dumb. Why wouldnt we just take back Kawhi? So silly.

I spent over an hour working on a deal that would send Vucevic to NY as part of this deal along with Harkless and we'd get Courtney Lee, Joakim Noah, the #9 pick, and probably a future pick from Orlando. Since we had too many centers I thought I'd use the #24 pick with Swanigan and Leonard to trade for someone with one year left on their deal like Jeremy Lin. So we ended up with Dame, Baldwin, Lin, Lee, Fournier, Bridges, Turner, Layman, Aminu, Collins, Nurk, Davis, Noah, and PapaG plus adding another shooter with the tax-MLE. However looking at that lineup it didn't seem much better and the payroll was over $150 million. Unless Mikal Bridges turned out to be a complete game changer I didn't think that team had much more potential than the current team so I decided to delete it.

It seems like Bucks fans want McCollum.

Shoot... would you guys give up CJ and Aminu/Harkless for Bledsoe and Middleton? Interesting.

From this thread, I'm not going to post the trade idea that a Blazer fan posted in it. Milwaukee gets crushed on it (they give up Middleton AND Brogdon for McCollum in a 3-team deal that sends Paul George to Portland), and Buck fans shot it down. They should have some trade ideas for McCollum once their off-season starts.

I’d rather have Parker and Middleton for CJ and Aminu/Harkless. Trading CJ for two players potentially on their last year of their deal scares me, which I’m pretty sure Middleton has an opt out after next season and Bledsoe is a UFA in 2019.

A Parker and Collins front court makes my pants tight.

Parker is a restricted free agent so there is basically a 0% chance of acquiring him this summer.

So we get Fournier, Lee, Noah, and #9 for CJ and Harkless? I'm not a fan of that. Maybe have ORL give us #5 and they can have 9.

Derozan, Ibaka, Future 2nd

for

CJ, Harkless and Leonard

I'd actually have to really think about that one. In that link you posted there is a similar version in which instead of Harkless and Leonard it is Turner and Swanigan. I like that DeRozan is locked up for 2-3 years, unlike Kawhi, but I don't like to have SG's that can't shoot 3 pointers very well. Ibaka isn't worth his contract but at least he only has two years left like Turner. No one could complain about having a small back court anymore or having two plays with too similar of skill sets because Dame and DeMar are completely different styles.

I still prefer if we trade CJ for it to provide more of a future plan with draft picks and/or young players but this wouldn't be terrible.

There's actually a guy over on Liberty Ballers who thinks that Ben Simmons got exposed by the Celtics and will never be good. Some fans are so fucking stupid. He even suggested trading him for Andrew Wiggins, Devin Booker, or................

CJ McCollum LOL. Um yes please! Let's hope this poster is Colangelo.

I don't think he got exposed. I just think he has a lot to work on in the off-season. aka not just developing a jumper.

He did have mental lapses, especially down the stretch of game 5 tho.
I understand he was playing with 5, but he still has to at least try to guard his man.
Instead he let Tatum blow right by him for a straight line layup, then the next possession watched as Tatum cut infront of the rim and got the ball for another easy layup.
Gotta still play defense, and worse case. Foul out. Cause you can't give up wide open layups.(tatum did miss the first, but Rozier was in position to clean up the miss)

Don't really know if Simmons will turn into defender like LBJ can be when he wants to.
Rozier did have a really good game 1 with Simmons as the primary defender.
But I think it has more to do with being a rookie, than lack of ability.

I know Wiggins sucks BUT Minnesota fans seem to want him gone bad and are resigned to the fact that they won't even get anything worthwhile back for him. They just want to dump his contract.

Would you guys take Wiggins if we only had to give up some combination of Aminu, Harkless, Turner, Leonard, and picks?

Edit: We'd probably have to also take back Dieng and Aldrich as well.

Here is an interesting one from a Philly fan...

Sixers send: SF Robert Covington, SG Jerry’d Bayless and Combo guard Markelle Fultz and two second rounder 39 and 60.

Blazers send: SG C.J. McCollum and PF/C Caleb Swingan

I think we'd have to use the TPE to take Bayless in this scenario. I doubt Colangelo would do this because it is basically admitting he screwed up taking Fultz. I'd love to try and make a few tweaks to the trade like trying to get the rights to Bolden but I think I would do this trade.

Dame/Fultz/Covington/Aminu/Nurk

Baldwin/Turner/Harkless/Collins/Davis

Leonard/Bayless/#24/#39

One roster spot left for either PapaG, Layman, Pat, Napier, tax-MLE, or the smaller TPE. Obviously we could make other moves too.
