SG also seems easier to "hide" than PF. Shitty PF defender just gets pick and rolled to deathNot as bad. Not close to as bad
Burks is absolute garbage. Gotta upgrade that backcourt off the bench still. Better financially though.
TBPup we still need 3 more people for our mock off season!Agreed....but as a backup SG, that is Patty Fastball's spot.....so nothing has really changed significantly.

Update on the Fake Blazers with my GM skills:
I made the trade of CJ and #26 for Love and #8 (Only to try and trade Love later)
Dallas really wanted Justise Winslow so I asked for 33 and that I wanted to include Bayless in the deal too. He agreed so the final trade was Justise Winslow and Jerryd Bayless for Dorian Finney-Smith (non-guaranteed $1.5 million) and #33.
I thought I had a deal involving Love for Middleton and Dellavedova but the Bucks backed out even though they were getting Kawhi for dirt cheap in a deal but they didn't want to give up Brogdon and Middleton, oh well. I tried to contact the Celtics about Jaylen Brown or the Wizards about Beal but neither GM has shown up since getting their team to make trades so it was a dead end.
Then Minnesota mentioned that Jimmy Butler was available, so we worked out this trade:
Love, Burks, and #8 for Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson (he wanted to get rid of him, didn't really want to take on another big but this gets us Butler), and #20
So as it stands right now this is our Blazers:
Dame/Baldwin
Butler/Finney-Smith
Harkless/
Collins/Gibson/Bolden/Swanigan
Nurk?/Olynyk/PapaG
Picks #20 and #33
I am trying to move Gibson now (hopefully for Courtney Lee for some wing depth). I also have a deal on the table that is basically Olynyk and 33 for Willie Cauley Stein as it would save a ton of money and I wanted to get at least one big that was a quick jumper athletic type but I don't want to take on Koufos so we are trying to find a 3rd team. If Temple opted in I think he would include him instead of Koufos but he can't be traded with a player option that hasn't been picked up.
The best part about this? I got rid of all the bad contracts and that team has a total salary next year of just under $112 million and that number includes Nurk signing for $15 million. I can also cut PapaG and Finney-Smith to save another $3 million if I need to at any point. So headed into free agency the Blazers are actually UNDER the salary cap at less than $94 million in contracts!
I still have the TPE too or would be able to offer the full MLE.
What do you guys think?
Maybe you missed the part where Gibson likely isn't staying.I think the Minn GM lost his job for trading Butler.
I'm also tempted to fire you, because I'm worried you'll sign Thibbs to coach Portland.

Alright, I finalized the Olynyk and #33 deal for Willie Cauley-SteinUpdate on the Fake Blazers with my GM skills:

Are ya'll doing free agency?Alright, I finalized the Olynyk and #33 deal for Willie Cauley-Stein
Dame/Baldwin
Butler/Finney-Smith
Harkless/Sefolosha (Completely non-guaranteed $5.25 million)
Collins/Gibson/Bolden/Swanigan
Nurk(Est $15 M)/Cauley-Stein/PapaG
#20 pick
This deal saved another $7 million in salary. There are 4-5 wings that I am targeting at #20 for wing depth and still trying to move Gibson for a wing too. Plus I still have the TPE and free agency. With Nurk signing for $15 million and cutting Sefolosha that is under $106 million in salaries, $17 million below the expected tax line of $123 million.
There is no free agency in that one but hypothetically I was planning on offering the full MLE to Tyreke or to use the TPE for a sign and trade since I would no longer be concerned with the hard cap. I could offer him $13 million a year, should be good. Are ya'll doing free agency?
Cuz Nurks cap hold is apx. $6M, so you'd have $97M going in. If you could shed Gibson somehow (attach a 2019 pick?), you'd have around $18M and you could go after someone like Tyreke Evans and bring Moe off the bench. Sign Wayne Ellington for the Room Exception and roll with this (if you needed more room, you could try to trade Moe for cap space and keep Sefelosha as a backup SF). Draft Okobo 20th and roll with this:
Lillard / Baldwin / Okobo
Evans / Ellington / Finney-Smith
Butler / Harkless / Layman
Collins / Bolden / Swanigan
Nurkic / Cauley-Stein / PapaG
That lineup is spectacular.
I have an offer on the table for Taj Gibson which is the 26th pick and either Jordan Clarkson or JR Smith.Alright, I finalized the Olynyk and #33 deal for Willie Cauley-Stein

Nurk's cap hold is actually $8.8 million and there aren't really many teams with cap space so there is no one to dump Gibson on.
It's not perfect but I don't think anyonne else could do better.
I have an offer on the table for Taj Gibson which is the 26th pick and either Jordan Clarkson or JR Smith.
Normally I wouldn't probably do that but I can use both the wing depth and have a really good salary structure so it wouldn't be like taking on one of them on the current Blazers. JR Smith has 2 years on his deal left but the 2nd year is only partially guaranteed at $3.87 million the 2nd year. Clarkson would be about $2 million cheaper this year but his 2nd year has $13.4 million.
There are several players I think would still be on the board at 26 that I really like so that is why I would do this. What do you guys think?
Edit: After seeing JR was only partially guaranteed he pulled him out so it's just Clarkson and 26.

I don't think PHI would offer as much as this guy is saying, personally.A Philly Podcast guy had this one:
Philly gets CJ
Portland gets Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, Furkan Korkmaz, Rights to Jonah Bolden, 2019 1st Round Pick from 76ers (Unprotected), and a 2021 1st Round Pick from Heat (Unprotected)
This one is EXTREMELY intriguing to me. Especially if they could find a way to get them to include Zhaire Smith (maybe instead of their 2019 pick). We could also use a pick(s) to get someone to replace CJ like Middleton or Brogdon or someone like that.

I mean, the guy who mentioned is the host of the "Rights to Ricky Sanchez" Podcast and is revered by a lot of Philly fans. I'm not saying they'd do it but this is coming from them not a Blazer fan.I don't think PHI would offer as much as this guy is saying, personally.
Wtf seriously??????? Hardaway, Lee and a low 1st rounder for Lillard lmao smhView attachment 21440
