On a Bucks forum I saw a CJ for Middleton and Dellavedova suggestion. Some Buck fans didn't like the idea though.
I'd do it.
Wtf seriously??????? Hardaway, Lee and a low 1st rounder for Lillard lmao smhView attachment 21440
I know opinions are mixed on Blake and he sure does get hurt frequently, but I think that would make the Blazers a much better team.On a Pistons forum they were discussing players that they were interested in trading for and CJ kept coming up but they all seemed to think he was untouchable (probably rightfully so) but it seemed like they would give up a lot for him.
Would you guys do this:

Blake's contract sucks but we'd get rid of a decent amount of salary too, just not the same length. Plus we'd be adding a couple of shooters to replace CJ. Blake is averaging over 25 points per game this year and I think he'd be pretty good in the Stotts' system. Kennard still has two years after this one left on his rookie deal. I'd probably do it if they threw in a 1st round pick too.
That looks like an amazing deal to me.On a Pistons forum they were discussing players that they were interested in trading for and CJ kept coming up but they all seemed to think he was untouchable (probably rightfully so) but it seemed like they would give up a lot for him.

Ehhh.... that's rough. Probably. One Pistons fan didn't want to give up Blake and both of their shooters for basically two point guards. If we revised it to just Blake Griffin (and maybe a throw in like Khyri Thomas) and a 2019 1st for CJ and Meyers would you guys still do it?
Ideally, we'd then flip Aminu for a SG but if not...Ehhh.... that's rough. Probably.
Or this:
POR Gets: Blake Griffin, Otto Porter Jr, BEST of 2019 WAS/DET 1sts
DET Gets: C.J. McCollum, Meyers Leonard
WAS Gets: Maurice Harkless, Caleb Swanigan, WORST of 2019 WAS/DET 1sts
I don't know why we get both Griffin and Porter and still get a 1st too. There is no way that would happen.Ehhh.... that's rough. Probably.

I messed up lol.I don't know why we get both Griffin and Porter and still get a 1st too. There is no way that would happen.

Why not go really big? Blake could be our secondary ball handler.
Lillard (36) / Turner (12)
Layman (16) / Curry (16) / Stauskas (16)
Porter Jr. (33) / Turner (8) / Aminu (7)
Griffin (34) / Aminu (14)
Nurkic (30) / Colline (18)
@hoopsjock this is what I meant to put.Ehhh.... that's rough. Probably.

I dont see why. Considering Blake could act as the secondary ball handlers with Otto Porter as the third, why would Layman be a problem there? The thought of Jake Layman as SG is hilario.
That looks like a similar thing, lol.@hoopsjock this is what I meant to put.
It's your trade idea plus Washington getting a 1st and saving apx. $13M by trading Porter.
This is actually pretty darn funny. As i remember we had a pretty long conversation about Blake Griffin ever being a Blazer once. Times are a changing. That looks like a similar thing, lol.
Por gets Griffin and Porter
Det gets CJ and Leonard
Was gets Harkless, Swanigan, and a 2019 1st from Detroit
Is that what you meant?
Oh KJ, that was regarding people who kept saying they thought Olshey would try a sign and trade for Griffin when he was a free agent. That had 0% chance of happening. This is actually pretty darn funny. As i remember we had a pretty long conversation about Blake Griffin ever being a Blazer once. Times are a changing.

The only thing that gives me pause is taking on those 2 contracts and still having Turner on the roster.@hoopsjock this is what I meant to put.

I would love this, but not sure I see Detroit or Washington doing it. Seems like Detroit needs to keep the pick and Portland's goes to DC. Maybe then it is closer.
This would definitely be a strong win now play. That team would be amazing. If you could actually get close I would even throw in Simons or Trent.
I'm not so sure about Washington not doing it, if they get a 1st round pick in addition to saving over $55 million in future contracts and go from well above the tax line to under it which saves them a bunch more money. There is no way on earth Washington ever does that deal. It's laughable.
Detroit would think about it. Then laugh.
You really sont think Washington would trade Porter for Harkless, a downgrade but Harkless has playoff experience as a starter, and to save $13M and get a pick back? Not saying they would for sure, but they definitely might. There is no way on earth Washington ever does that deal. It's laughable.
Detroit would think about it. Then laugh.
And gets a solid SF replacement too..I'm not so sure about Washington not doing it, if they get a 1st round pick in addition to saving over $55 million in future contracts and go from well above the tax line to under it which saves them a bunch more money.

Youd have Porter guard SGs. So I guess you could consider him the SG.If you haven't noticed Layman isn't laterally quick enough to keep up with many-a-SF. Guarding SGs will be even more difficult.
I know. Just crazy how the situation changes.Oh KJ, that was regarding people who kept saying they thought Olshey would try a sign and trade for Griffin when he was a free agent. That had 0% chance of happening.

The scenerios I saw a while back with Harkless involved did not include picks. It was a straight Moe -> Skal trade.I saw a discussion in a Sacramento forum, it's basically one that has been discussed before:
Blazers get Skal and a 2019 2nd Round Pick (Via Milwaukee)
Kings get Leonard and a 2019 1st Round Pick (Lottery Protected)
They all agree they would also do the same trade with Harkless instead of Leonard too.
While the trade gets us under the luxury tax this season I don't think I would do this. Our pick is currently 20/21 and the Bucks 2nd rounder is currently 59th. They have a few 2nd rounders that are currently higher (40 and 41) so I might consider it if it was for a better one and maybe we could get both the Wolves 2019 2nd rounder (40th) and Miami 2021 2nd rounder we gave them for Trent back too. If we're giving up a 1st though I'd rather it be more savings than just Leonard.
