Blazers and Timberwolves working on "major deal"

Welcome to our community

CJ, Meyers, Vonleh and 3 firsts for Wiggins heard it hear first.

Seriously though I got excited that stuff might happen!

This thread made me realize how tough of an off season its been when the first thing I thought of when I saw this was thread was "those fuckers want Lillard and it wouldnt shock me if we traded him".

Id love if it was something with Muhammed, which would be considered a "big deal". Something like then giving us Shabbaz and Pekovic for a Future 1st, Kaman and Harkless.

They shed a bad contract, get a mentor in Kaman, a future 1st and a young asset in Harkless. We get a good young SG that fits well, and could buyout Pekovic. Likely for less than $20M, and take all of the cap hit this year. That would be the "cap space" part of it. Add in filler and we could possibly get Bennett.

Youd start Shabazz at the 2, Aminu at the 3, with CJ as your backup 1/2, Henderson as your backup 2/3, and Crabbe as your backup. Suddenly that's a 8th or 9th place team instead of a 10th to 12th place team. And if the team struggles, then oh well, you added a great young SG.

Timberwolves: Can we haz Mayers Leonard and CJ for Kevin Martin lol ?
Olshey: no lol.

That's about as serious as you can get with Wolves' front office.

I think Kevin Martin would be a good addition though.

Still shows what we all pretty much knew already - Olshey is not quite done yet.

I question this premise.
Just because a team inquires, doesn't mean that NO is still wheeling and dealing. Obviously he is going to at least listen to any offer, but I don't see him making any more changes unless its TRULY a major deal, and there isn't a player on Timberwolves roster that would fit or system without giving up a couple of our high potentials. No team is going to make a major deal for a superstar at this time, so there isn't really a play for NO right now on the major trade scale. Again... Why trade an unknown for an known? We have already made the moves. If NO does anything else until close to the trade deadline, I think it will only be one type of move. A very low giveaway from us, possibly even just cap space, for very low risk/high reward players. I don't think he is giving anyone up from this roster other than Miller right now. I think he wants to see what they can do early on. Many of these guys on our roster, might be twice as valuable only a couple weeks into the season depending on how they come out. Trading them now without giving them any time to prove themselves or improve their value would be foolish in my opinion and I'm pretty sure NO feels the same.

Troll Tweet.

There is nothing here guys

Muhammad and Bennett was my first thought, but that would be if WE were the ones inquiring. If it's them initiating talks, it was probably Pek for picks.

Our gm no dummy wolves was properly after Myers and cj for pek. Our gm is not parting ways with those 2 players.

Yeah, I would imagine they asked what it might take to dump Pek, and price was too high for their liking. They can't trade a 1st until 2020, so I would imagine they offered a player, and we wanted a better one.

Only way I would support taking on Pek is getting Wiggins. Basically, no chance either side is getting what they want

Damn did a commercial with Wiggins. It's a sign!!!! Lol
It's never going to happen, but now my hopes are up!p

Dame and Wiggens together = Next years slogan - "The better duo". That would be one of the most exciting teams to watch for a long time... If only we still had T-Rob.

We all can dream little bit but I don't see wiggins and Lillard no time soon.

maybe the Blazers found out that Damian DOES drink like a fish, and they're trying to trade him before the shit hits the fan?

Realize this is trade is dead, but just found this article. It raises several questions.

Why is a reporter in Charlotte reporting on a possible Blazer/Minny trade?

He states Portland would be giving up the better players. What???

The Blazers and Wolves are working on a "major deal," according to Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell. It is likely due to move some cap space and perhaps it's the Blazers giving up the better players.

There's no way they were after that. That would be lIke us calling Cleveland and offering Vonleh and Plumlee for Lebron
