Blazers are for Sale

Before we get excited about them potentially owning the team, maybe we should see how they run the Thorns for more than a cup of coffee first before we think they'd make great owners.

FFS, to run the Thorns (and the WNBA team) is significantly cheaper than running an NBA team.

For comparisons sake, the WNBA salary cap is 1.5 million.

We're talking a factor for 100X more money in the NBA. The NWSL salary cap is actually 3.3 million, so it's only 46X more for the NBA.

Also this is the family that almost let the Kings get out of Sac. so I am not sold this is the right group to MAYBE take over the Blazers.

IF i am wrong someone please tell me I did not follow the Kings situation that closely just know that it was dicey for the Kings in Sac.

I thought they were part of the group that bought the kings instead of the group that wanted to move them to Seattle.

like I said I am not very informed on this group so I might be wrong -- but I saw someone mention that a relative ( of this group who owns Thorns etc ) is part of the Kings group -- I will look into it further if we get news they are going to make a bid for the Blazers

I overpaid federal income tax and the feds sent me a check for $208. Maybe I can buy a basketball ... ticket.

And I was pointing out you were both correct (in hopes it doesn't turn into another pissing contest).
No FAMS….I’m peeing. He said it WASN’T built in the middle of rodeo grounds. He’s wrong you CHILD! I’m Right!!!! Suck it!

It's Texas... They have rodeo everywhere. They have a rodeo in Houston arena where the NFL Texans play.

I agreed there are not many restaurants or shops or such in the area. Yeah that's why they might build a $1.5billion new one in a new location. I was just clarifying it's not that the old arena is surrounded by horses and cows in the country like your post made it sound.
You sir/ma’am have a read in comprehension problem that you need to work on. I win, you suck!

Or maybe you can get a Sharpe jersey if you add another $92 to it?

MMan -- Do you hate the Blazers ?

I mean to even put that out there in the world is fucked up cause I would guess like at least 80% or more of this fanbase want them both gone so a new chapter can start. Now let's be real the chances of this happening is kind of slim but still to even bring this BS up is garbage. Please stop trying to bait people your better then this at least I thought so but the last month or so your just being a troll at times and that is not cool -- period.

I think it will be Jody and Bert who end up buying the team.
Honestly I would prefer that to this bizzarre trust arrangement.

Really it would be Jody who buys the team - Bert doesn't have any relevant cash. But yeah maybe she puts Bert in as the governor.

Strongly hope we get different owners though. Sure they could be horrible and we could have the 30th ranked ownership group instead of 26th or whatever Jody/Bert are.

I don't think Jody is interested in buying the team. If she was going to do that she would just have the sale documents signed, and announced as done for the NBA to give its final approval. She controls all the parties so there is no negotiations needed, just need some valuations and such that would be privately done.

The public announcement of the team being for sale is to solicit bids from other parties.

is Jody Allen even a billionaire? The only time I see anything about her net worth it is always conflated with the net worth of the Paul Allen Trust (20.3B for the trust).
