So have you nerds figured out which billionaire you’ll e-mail asking them to buy the blazers yet?

Trying to figure out which young blazer fan we can get to go viral as the next "Hawk Tuah" so we can create a crypto currency and raise enough money to buy them ourselves.

It's almost too easy...

I think it will be Jody and Bert who end up buying the team.

Or if that's not to your liking...

OR, but seriously how can you not like that one...how about this one?

Not paranoid. I just know uncle Bert wants this team

He may want the team, but he also has to have the resources to pay for it, outbid other potential owners, and have league approval.

And I really doubt the league would approve people who are not exactly wealthy enough to own a billion dollar sports entity.

The NBA isn't about to have the team go up for sale, just to have it bought by the people who currently are running things, especially when there are *actual* billionaires who would be interested in buying the team and wouldn't have to run the team on the cheap. It's a really bad look for the league to have a team go from one of the wealthiest owners in the NBA (Paul Allen), to dirt poor (by NBA standards) in Bert Kolde.

He might want to have something to do with running the team, but like Merritt Paulson, he ain't got the cheddar and the league isn't about to OK someone with very little resources (vs someone who is worth 10-50 billion) buy the team.

counting others' money is a waste of time.

Elon Musk gets 8 Million dollars daily of yours, mine, and everyone in this forum's tax dollars.

8. MILLION. DAILY.

I'm gonna count THE FUCK outta that shit.

Larry Ellison would be like having Paul Allen as owner. He buys want he wants. And look out if he wanted a championship...He's I believe wealthier than Ballmer, I believe.

The league doesn't have to approve or disapprove anything. Their rules explicitly say the team can't be bought leveraged (with debt) A buyer needs cash to buy the team. Bert doesn't have enough to make a dent. At best he could find some other wealthy person to buy it and he runs it but he'd never be the primary owner. It's 3-5 billion needed to buy the team.

It's like some common 16 year old saying they want to buy a Ferrari tomorrow. Well great who's actually buying that?

He's also only 80 years old and would give Trump front row seats!

um, you might want to re-think that one. Literally a 1 second Google search.

Yes, the NBA requires the approval of its Board of Governors for team sales. The sale of a team only becomes effective when approved by a vote of at least three-fourths of all governors. Additionally, the NBA Commissioner conducts investigations into the transfer before approval

Yes I know NBA votes on owners...... My point was it won't ever even get to the level of the NBA voting as Bert has no ability to get a sale far enough to get to that level.

Bert doesn't have the financial ability to ever get in a position where the NBA would approve or disapprove him as an owner. The NBA wouldn't get involved until there was an accepted sales agreement. Bert doesn't have an ability to enter into such an agreement.

Its like talking about how the NBA would vote to approve HCP to be an NBA owner.

Gotcha, I misinterpreted what you wrote.

Travis and Jason Kelce just bought an indoor football team. Maybe they can also buy the Blazers and we'll get Taylor Swift sitting court side

Got me thinking how much Taylor Swift is worth....

So 1.6 billion - if she sold everything she owned and moved to a shack she still couldn't buy half the team.

Kelce is worth a whole 90 million. So less than Allen Crabbe or Evan Turner.

That spectacle would get old real fast.

YES!

We could even name our WNBA after Taylor, the Portland Swifts!

MMan -- Do you hate the Blazers ?

I mean to even put that out there in the world is fucked up cause I would guess like at least 80% or more of this fanbase want them both gone so a new chapter can start. Now let's be real the chances of this happening is kind of slim but still to even bring this BS up is garbage. Please stop trying to bait people your better then this at least I thought so but the last month or so your just being a troll at times and that is not cool -- period.
You need to get a hobby. Are you this tense and angry in real life? Or is this your real life? Seriously FAMS. Not sure there is anybody in here who angry types as much as you.

I used to “Angry Type” but I gave it up when I got old enough to know better.
