Portland isn't the same place it was in the 80's and 90's. I have friends who had season tickets who are now diehard Timbers
and Ducks fans who spend their money elsewhere. It's not that they don't see Blazer games, it's just that they don't feel
like they have to see as many games. Plus the Oden debacle and the last couple of years probably hurt too.

The comcast deal has put a bad taste in a lot of fans mouthes. Hard to follow a team when you cant view their games on a nightly basis.

Man. You rang the bell that time. My dad's a huge Blazer fan but hasn't seen a game this year since he switched to Direct TV. I have to say that the Blazers sometimes
make shoddy business deals. Changing the name of the Rose Garden and the Comcast deal. They look at the bottom line rather than maximizing their market exposure.
The Timbers and the Ducks are part of multiple TV deals. Though in the Timbers case no one watches them on TV.

I hate that term "small market." Portland fans support their teams like no other. The Winterhawks,
The Timbers have over 60 sold out matches, and no other small market team can match the
fanaticism of Blazer fans. Basically, you build it here. they will come.

I took my nephew to the game last night and ticket prices have gone way up from the last time I bought some (a couple of years ago). For 300 level tickets "somewhat" caddy-corner to the court I paid 60 bucks a ticket. I doubt I'll be going to a ton of games at those prices and I suspect I'm not the only one.

I could be way off base here, as I haven't lived in Oregon in over six years, but I heard Oregon was one of the hardest hit in the recent mini depression, having one of the higher state unemployment rates. I've also been told by my family still out there, the cost of living has gone way up since I've been gone. If true, coupled with the pricing games the Blazers seem to be playing with tickets lately, perhaps money is the biggest factor?
