That would be fantastic. Then trade our 2nd rounders and someone else and take Olynyk. I said I wanted an Oladipo/Olynyk draft from the get go.

Sources close to the prospect say the Trail Blazers, among a few others teams, “really like him” and are “considering moving up to get him.”
“I would really love to go to Portland, and I'm not just saying that,” he said convincingly to CSNNW.com. “I hope, and I don't think I'm dropping that far, but if they decided to move up somehow, I think that would be a great situation for me. It's a place where you can just concentrate on basketball.”

“I hear it's a great place for players. I've been there and I love it. I'm all about working hard and getting better everyday. I think playing in Portland will be good for me if I ended up there.”

A Lillard/Oladipo backcourt would be fantastic together.

I like Oladipo also but trade with who and for what? I think we have to get into the top 5 for Oladipo, and looking at the top 5 teams I don't think Wesley+10 gets that done, and Batum+10 is to much.

If its such a weak draft like people say, I think Wes/10 could get it done.

Lets cross our fingers that we can pull some Magic on lottery day and move up a couple spots.

Such a great time of year. I think the lottery's next week?

#10, 40 and 45, Wes and Leonard to PHX for Gortat and #4 and 30.

Next Tuesday we get the lottery I believe. It would be pretty freaking awesome to get a top 3 but Im not holding my breath. I figure anyway we go, trade or draft, we need someone who can produce this year. Seems we are committed to LA for this year at least and probably next year. To make him happy we need to get a real center and improve/compete the next two years. Oladipo fits that criteria, but would we actually be better next year minus Wesley and plus Oladipo? Assuming that can get it done.

this would be best case scenario. oladipo can flat out play all aspects of the game. I would do that phoenix trade. don't why you all have such a hard on for gortat...... what has he done?

he's not the best center in the world but he is decent to good and would compliment LA very well. There really arn't that many options out there for a legit center and we don't have the time to develope one through the draft.

I like Oladipo. I haven't watched much of him, but he kinda reminded me of Harden a bit.

We would definitely be better, no doubt about it.
The only way we can get it done is if another team really likes one of the sleepers and thinks they'll get him at #10.

Yep I agree. Gortat is obviously more veteran center and I think he is more than just a decent center.

I disagree. Wes Matthews is always undervalued and not to say that Oladipo won't be better than Wes at some point, but I think the team would clearly miss Wes during the first year or two. I am not opposed to trading Wes, but I would have serious doubts that we are definitely better by trading Wes + #10 for Oladipo.

I think that is a pretty fare trade. At first I thought no way would phoenix do that, but including Leonard into the mix makes it better for them while they are rebuilding. But we would have to wait to make sure the person we want is that at #4. If it is Oladipo

Wes is a good guy, a good 3 point shooter and a solid all around player but he isn't as good as Oladipo. Oladipo, in my opinion is one of the only sure-things in this draft, surely better than Wesley. I think there are even better scenarios for this draft but to answer donkiez' question, yes, we would be a better team with Oladipo instead of Mathewss.

here's a little "sobering" of the Oladio mania and some data on Wes I took from another board, this is good stuff from a good poster:

"did you know that Wesley Matthews averaged 0.92 points/possession in isolation. That actually ranked 39th of all players in the NBA.

he also averaged 0.84 points/possession as a P&R ball-handler. That ranked 48th

he averaged 1.16 points/possession on spot-up. That ranked 42nd

and 0.94 points/possession on hand-offs. That ranked 38th

and 1.09 points/possession off screens. That was good enough to rank 16th.

Overall, he averaged 1.02 points/possession. That ranked 39th in the league and 1st on the Blazers.

he also only gave up 0.82 points/possession on defense. That ranked 88th in the league and he didn't have the advantage of a good interior defender backing him up like so many other perimeter players did. That average also, just like on offense, led the team

considering that Draft Express lists ball-handling as an Oladipo weakness, I'm not sure that believing there would be some big positive team differential derived from going from Matthews to Oladipo because of ball-handling is justified. Matthews is one of the more efficient players in the league, who also plays good defense and makes a lot of hustle and energy plays. This could end up being a don't-know-what-you've-got-till-it's-gone situation

I'm not saying Matthews is untouchable. Not close. But exchanging him for a player who hasn't touched an NBA floor is pretty risky, and that doesn't factor in team chemistry and leadership"

Tuesday!

I'd do that without Leonard in the deal. Freeland? Claver?

But Oladipo is the next Michael Jordan! Haven't you read Wikipedia?

I honestly think VO will end up a slightly better version of Wes, and it may take a few years to get there.
