Yeah but at 1200 meters having a scope is niceIf you pay attention to all the training you receive you don’t need a scope. Snipers cheat and use em though.

They do not make firearms. They have never made firearms of any kind.
On a side note England is considering banning "pointy" kitchen knives saying they are obsolete and have no use.
would be a ridiculous argument, but OK.Or one could argue that without our military power, none of our other priorities could be pursued...
LMAOThis is why we can't have Championship Titles.
They could always get a job and learn the value of earning money to provide for themselves and stay here, or help them learn the value of helping others, as they have been helped. It would be a good thing to get them to move off center one way or the other.Slave labor is the best labor?
I've shot guns before. They're a blast. No pun intended.I'm not republican. But guns ARE are a heck of a great time and 99.9999999% (just an estimate) of the times they are used nobody gets hurt.
The CDC also found that in the US, they are used (though not usually fired) in over 2 million defensive gun uses per year.
That's 200x more often than they are used successfully to commit homicide.

Remember that this includes everything from killing an assailant, down to simply brandishing a gun to dissuade a potential attacker.
This makes me ill and discouraged. I guess these are the days we live in. Thanks social media. #Tolerance4MeButNot4Thee
Really? Like, really??
Please tell me how this relationship benefited the Blazers besides creating protesters.
I'd happily join the protesters and am very glad the Blazers ended their affiliation with a company that continuously fleeces our country.
Like we need to be spending that much money on "defense".
Generalize much? The military spending is a red herring. A local business that has been very successful, has it's relationship with the Blazers killed by a bunch of unemployed, over-entitled perpetually-offended people. I don't care what the business is, I don't like seeing the tantrums of the perpetually-offended rewarded so they will keep being unemployed and continue finding something new that offends them to protest.
Do you honestly believe that this group won't just run to the next cause to protest? You think they will now go back to their day jobs content with their efforts?
This is just another example of the cancel culture. The "tolerant" people attempting to cancel anything they don't personally agree with.
I recognize you and I are never going to agree on political matters. I would just like to say that I appreciate you as a fellow Blazer fan even though we don't agree on political issues.

Because anyone who disagrees with you or actually cares about a cause is jobless. Your generalizations completely neuter your arguments. When the shoe fits, yes. Pretty sure this wasn't a random group of business people.

Yep. I'm ready to get back to basketball. And, go!I never said I disagreed with them. My point is that I don't think it is healthy for people to protest companies they don't like to try and harm them or shut them down. If everyone did this then jobs would start dying off and you end up harming the people who work for the companies. Everyone is offended by something. Should we shut it all down?
There are people on board with the cancel culture and people that are not on board. I am not on board. And yes, I do believe the vast majority of the social media cancel culture types are not gainfully employed and live in their parent's basement.
I'm going to go back to only basketball comments. Many of us don't agree on political issues, but I hope we can focus on this exciting time of year and all the promise that is going on at the practice facility. Go Blazers.
That's too bad. My hunting rifle has one of their excellent scopes. Mounted with Redfield mounts. 3X9 with a post graticule.https://www.wweek.com/sports/2019/0...hip-with-military-contractor-leupold-stevens/
Several groups, including the Portland Democratic Socialists of America, have protested the Blazers' relationship with the company, which supplies rifle scopes to the U.S. military and other armed forces.
The Trail Blazers are ending a controversial partnership with Beaverton-based sniper-scopes manufacturer Leupold & Stevens.
NBA writer Sean Highkin first reported that Blazers President Chris McGowan made the announcement this afternoon at the team's media day, saying that "Leupold is no longer a part of the organization."
Several groups, including the Portland Democratic Socialists of America, have protested the Blazers' relationship with the company, which supplies rifle scopes to the U.S. military and other armed forces, including the Israeli Defense Force.
It's the company's work with the Israeli army that has drawn protest from the DSA, which opposes the occupation of Palestine.
Leupold & Stevens had sponsored a regular segment at Moda Center called Hometown Heroes, meant to honor local military veterans and first responders with free tickets, gifts and in-game recognition.(CONTINUED...)

What's the big deal?OT please move this to OT
Yeah, that's just for the ordinary grunt and not the sniper. If you pay attention to all the training you receive you don’t need a scope. Snipers cheat and use em though.
Before you embrace this position I think that you should realize that snipers saved a lot of American lives in Vietnam, perhaps even me. No doubt about it, they've saved countless American lives in the middle East.#BANSNIPERS
I don't think that supporting our troops is any kind of "political shitshow".*munching popcorn, watching this thread devolve into a political shitshow*
I was okay with hometown heroes but a little jealous. Us Vietnam Vets have never really received any recognition despite having an incredibly high casualty list. Some of us came back either in a coffin or with debilitating disabilities.
One nimrod in here called me a "baby killer".That to me was the saddest part of the Vietnam war era is how the troops were perceived and treated when they came home as if it was their fault. How can you blame a bunch of young men forced to serve and go in a war we never attempted to win? I never had to serve as my draft class was right after they abolished the draft and we were withdrawing troops, but my number was #20 which meant I was essentially drafted if the draft rule hadn't expired.
