Blazers getting a G league team, playing at U of P. HCP hired as G-League janitor

They are limited to having 3 players on 2-way contracts, so I doubt that they would be acquiring more young players and need a spot for them, because if they're trading someone (including Dame) and get 2-way contracted players in return, fuck the G-league team and the bluff it plays at.

I'm sure 90% of it is that they didn't want to send their own talent down (Sharpe not withstanding) and have them be coached by someone in their system, and also could be easier to sign and keep talent that could be brought up (and take advantage of Schmidts talent).

The NBA should run the G-league like it's AAA baseball, in that the players on the team are under contract with the parent team, and can be traded, etc. And in fact, they should have a G-league draft too. That way, teams can stash players potentially and not have it take up a roster spot on the "parent" team.
That's too logical.

On what they've done to create maneuverability , and be able to go after potential game changing talent. Neil roped the franchise into a corner, then basically acted like there's nothing he can do. I'm more impressed with the talent evaluation too as far as youth goes. It's the steps they've done to put the plan in motion. Now they have to hit on it.

How did Cronin add maneuverability? The Blazers sent out contracts in trades or pocketed cash from Roco/Powell/Nance/CJ/Hart/Bledsoe/Ingels while only bringing in Grant, who will likely resign for a boatload. They have less maneuverability to add talent than before.

They saved cash and avoided luxury tax, but there is no additional "maneuverability" or as Joe calls it "flexibility". The team actually has less since none of those players can be included in a trade. Instead we have to give up Nurk/Ant even if the trading partner just wants an expiring contract in return.

Hearing rumors of the Oregon Squatsh (mascot already introduced at Blazer games) or something electronic in the name because Intel is going to be a big sponsor.

But we all know it should be something with dogs.

I never understood why anonymous posters are so hell bent to not leak information on forums like this? Now of course if ppl here know you obviously you’ll be known but if nobody knows you but your poster name why can’t you share more shit?

Very good news imo.

A better avenue to develop players, draw in some more fans hopefully for the main team, etc.

How about the Portland Deadheads as an homage to our legend Bill's favorite band haha.
