Paul Allen's Trust says that as long as there is a basketball team in Portland she can sell the Blazers. So the Blazers get sold to Las Vegas and we still have "professional" basketball.

I wonder why this was done now?
A. Blazers going to acquire more young players so need a spot for them to play?
B. Youth similar to option A - but the team is also trading Dame?
C. Team thinks it will help recruit veteran in trade or free agency to win now by showing their spending money
D. League pushed for it with new CBA/TV deal
E. Jody doing it to sell the team
Finally nice to see a move done that has dollars being spent instead of saved. Although the Jody skeptic in me wonders if there is a chance this was actually done primarily to make money in the long run; and not to primarily help the basketball performance/development of talent.
Lmao at the first response

This made me chuckle! It's bold moves like this that will help us repeat as Summer League champions.

A G League team in the same city as the parent team? This obviously means the Blazers are moving to Seattle!
Comment is very funny.
I seriously would rather have watched a GLeague team with Jabari and maybe a couple 2 way players signed into next season than that last couple months of our regular season.

Side note, it’ll be cool that the Ignite team will be coming to Portland regularly. Will get to see the Scoots and Jalen Greens of the future up close for cheap.
I don’t see how it solidifies the team from not being moved. Granted the blazers would never move
UofP is such a great campus to visit as well. Love looking over downtown.
Well, my HS graduation was at Chiles.
So what are they calling this squad?

Hearing rumors of the Oregon Squatsh (mascot already introduced at Blazer games) or something electronic in the name because Intel is going to be a big sponsor.
The Pentium Playas
(Well, Portland Pentiums is there as well, but it's boring).
