I seriously would rather have watched a GLeague team with Jabari and maybe a couple 2 way players signed into next season than that last couple months of our regular season.

They are limited to having 3 players on 2-way contracts, so I doubt that they would be acquiring more young players and need a spot for them, because if they're trading someone (including Dame) and get 2-way contracted players in return, fuck the G-league team and the bluff it plays at.

I'm sure 90% of it is that they didn't want to send their own talent down (Sharpe not withstanding) and have them be coached by someone in their system, and also could be easier to sign and keep talent that could be brought up (and take advantage of Schmidts talent).

The NBA should run the G-league like it's AAA baseball, in that the players on the team are under contract with the parent team, and can be traded, etc. And in fact, they should have a G-league draft too. That way, teams can stash players potentially and not have it take up a roster spot on the "parent" team.
 
I think the G league should be the team's minor league and you should control the rosters from both teams...be able to promote, demote and trade players. If John Butler Jr doeesn't cut it, another G league guy should be able to be called up and Butler sent down to the minors...would plug injury holes and keep teams moving forward ...

It's great move by the blazers I seen it how it worked with the young players for the spurs do I follow them all year last year. It's also good for player that been injured for awhile to go down and get the reps in before playing again if it just practice with them down there.
 
A G League team in the same city as the parent team? This obviously means the Blazers are moving to Seattle!

They obviously didnt' want to leave the city without pro ball.
 
Getting to use the Blazers practice facility is a big plus for a G league team...those guys usually have crappy facilities.

They would have waited until the team is moved to ensure a logistically beneficial location instead of five miles from each other.
Assumption i know, but legit to me.

You also ignored what i feel is the bigger positive impact. More control over our players’ development to fit within our system.
