Kinda makes me wonder if the reason the process was sped up was to quicken a sale?

I don't think they care about speeding up the process. I think she prefers to slow the process down, but I agree it adds more value to the sale.

What's the big deal about that? What is so exciting to have a g-league team? I don't get it
Players at the end of the bench can easily get playing time.

Also, since there isn't a lot of 'live' practice during the season - this give the team a lot more bodies to do live practice with the younger players.

May not be exciting... but it is a good move.
I can't see a downside to this move.

They could name them the Vikings and really mess with people.

Naw, the investment Jody is putting into the improvements to the Moda Center over the next 6 years makes me think she's all in on keeping the Blazers in the Trust portfolio. I think the Seahawks and the Blazers will be the last things sold. I tried to tell some of you she is more into the Blazers then you think. She's learning more and more about the team, and how it's built from Joe. If she didn't care, you'd never see her at games.

So it was the Gleague news. The people who guessed that were told it wasn’t that

liars

I think the NBA would prefer every team have a G League team filled with a roster of developmental talent for each team.

Why it matters? Because when we send our players to the G-League to develop, we can have some control over how they're played/developed while they're down there. That's kind of a big deal.

can't be! I MUST IRRATIONALLY HATE HER BECAUSE....well, not sure why, I just know I'm supposed to want her gone as an owner.

Exactly. And you can take fliers on more players, that might become productive NBA players. Even a potential star. Billy Ray Bates came out of the CBA and had a huge impact on his team.

“Some looked at the Knights’ investment in Albina as a sort of down payment on his eventual purchase of the Blazers. A pre-investment in the neighborhood that will need to thrive for the long-term health of the Rose Quarter. There is no question that this gives Knight a head start on what will be a crucial relationship for whomever owns the Blazers.”

Hmmm the same shit I said..

Absolutely nothing.. hella stupid

Come on man,.. you really think having control of our gleague players is stupid?

you really think this doesn't solidify the team NOT being sold/moved anywhere else?

big positives to this. Just need to have a glass half full view instead of half empty all the time…

Yup I been saying that all season. She goes to every single game. Even though I want her to sell that fact tells me she must care a lot to watch random Tuesday games in February for a tanking team

I don’t see how it solidifies the team from not being moved. Granted the blazers would never move

I wonder why this was done now?

A. Blazers going to acquire more young players so need a spot for them to play?
B. Youth similar to option A - but the team is also trading Dame?
C. Team thinks it will help recruit veteran in trade or free agency to win now by showing their spending money
D. League pushed for it with new CBA/TV deal
E. Jody doing it to sell the team

Finally nice to see a move done that has dollars being spent instead of saved. Although the Jody skeptic in me wonders if there is a chance this was actually done primarily to make money in the long run; and not to primarily help the basketball performance/development of talent.
