I never understood why anonymous posters are so hell bent to not leak information on forums like this? Now of course if ppl here know you obviously you’ll be known but if nobody knows you but your poster name why can’t you share more shit?
I never understood why most the messages you write would seem to anyone to be a good idea to post; but I've been reading them for years.

Seriously. I changed my anonymous name on here because it absolutely was no longer anonymous enough. No way I’m dropping too much information again.

Good name suggestion.

Portland Pride.

I have an autographed Portland Pride tshirt somewhere. I also went to a Portland Pride soccer camp when I was a kid.

you were a kid in 93??

I see other teams in the G league do actually play in the same city as their parent team, but it makes no sense to me

Portland Perrywinkles
Portland Hogs (big ass chinook)

Portland Pathfinders
Searching for a path to the A Team

It makes no sense? Lmao

Eh, I think it makes sense if they plan on getting the team up and running and then eventually moving it somewhere else in the state.

Since it's a brand new team, I could see them wanting to keep the operations close to home so they can house the staff in the same buildings as the rest of the team. Probably could use them as a practice squad of sorts. Eventually I could see them moving operations to some place else like Bend.

Flying a G league team around that doesn't make much money doesn't make much sense for home games...the carbon footprint is much greener to have both in Portland and having other G league teams visit Portland is more revenue for the city. Only needing one practice facility...being able to send Blazer assistants and staff to help them develop players within their system. I like everything about it. I didn't want them to move to Boise or Omaha, etc....I just hope we're seeing the beginning of an actual NBA minor league system. Who knows? They might even retire Coby Karl's Idaho Stampede jersey or Luke Jackson's!

It actually makes more sense too do it too.

The kings and warriors Gleague teams are within like an hour of driving, both LA teams are in the LA area...

honestly, you go an hour out of Portland and where exactly do they play? Salem? What in Salem is set up to host a team?

At first I thought it was weird when other teams did it (OKC has their Gleague team in OKC iirc) but now that Ive actually looked into it and thought about it, it makes zero sense (esp for Portland) to do it out of the metro area.

Salem actually has a semi pro team that plays at the fairgrounds (Salem Capitals), but I agree, it makes more sense to have it in the Portland metro area.

I think you have to find a city with the right demographics that is close and has few sports teams. Not sure about Bend. Eugene IMO would not work nor would Corvallis. Vancouver WA might be an option. But for now, I think UP is a great choice.

Anyone know where to find the yearly total attendance of the professional sports teams in Portland?

I wonder where the G League team will fit in.

Higher than the Winterhawks? Thorns? Pickles?

Not sure but the average attendance in the Gleague is around 3,000/game
