Not many pro athletes will give up salary for that reason. And you could make a case that he deserves another year's pay as compensation for how well he played on his rookie contract.

If he would take a medical retirement, and clear the space, that would probably be best for the Blazers. Paul Allen is going to give away most of his fortune, and it would be nice to see more of it go to charity than to all the bozo's the Blazers have signed over the years, Kemp, Stoudamire, Roy, Anderson, Ratliff.......

Wow you just called Roy a bozo?!?! Some fans never cease to amaze me. I could see a point with Kemp and Stoudamire, but Roy? Really?!
