So if we sign Aminu and Monroe, what's the next step? If Aldridge doesn't re-sign, who do we go after next?

Can you imagine how awesome it will be when LBJ signs here for the minimum? Sweeeeeeet!
But in all seriousness... They would be better off because they would still be able to retain their bird rights. Taking a 1 year cut could make them a helluva lot more money next summer.

5 years 90 mil for Matthews and 5 years 130 mil for Aldridge, while playing with a stacked team of Dame, Henderson, Aminu, Monroe, Noah, CJ, Leonard, Pat would be extremely tempting

Not possible. We have to renounce Matthews to have the cap space to sign Aminu and Monroe while retaining Aldridge.

Unless they sign for less first like SAS may do to get Aldridge. Then the cap hold drops

Sure--Matthews and Monroe would have to sign for a combined 16M. That's not happening.

Hmmm. It seems as if the decisions of both Monroe and Aldridge might depend on each other. If Monroe knows we will have Aldridge it seems that would make us the most attractive team over LA, New York and Milwaukee. For Aldridge maybe it not as clear; does he really prefer Monroe over Lopez, but if he thought it made us a stronger team and with the extra money? Anyway if we did get those two, it would seem then we would try to trade for a better SG. Looking back now we can see that neither Olshey or any inside guys have mentioned Lopez or Matthews in relation to the Blazers so it shouldn't be a big surprise if they are out; although I suppose if they don't get either;or Aldridge, Monroe, that could change.

Monroe + Plumlee > Lopez, Freeland.

Does Paul Allen attending a free agency pitch help? I'm not so sure...
If he shows up in Washington, DC with his superyacht....

It would require some fancy cap maneuvering but its not necessarily impossible to keep all those guys. I agree LaMarcus and Wes won't take pay discounts though. But we could find a trade where we agree to swap picks for teams to take on Kaman and Hendo contract. Or Monroe gets acquired in a sign and trade.

But if the rumors are true that Dallas is offering Wes a deal starting around $12 million I think we'll just let him walk.

I think Meyers might be ready to start at PF. So we could spend our money on another 2/3. Danny Green?

Lillard/Sergio
Henderson/CJ
Green/Aminu
Leonard/Vonleh
Monroe/Kaman

Nope. Green is getting $45M to stay in SA.
