If Sharpe is coming along quickly, we will likely look to trade Ant at the deadline... if Ant is being paid north of 20M. If Sharpe still isn't ready for major minutes I think Ant stays until he is. I don't love the idea of Dame/Ant but I want to give it a try. If Dame and Ant can defend and are complementary on offense then maybe Sharpe's future is at SF starting with both guys.
Tell the old salt to have a great frickin' time there....I know he's going to love it! I'm jealous!I travel enough I got a free upgrade. He was in Row 14 with my eldest daughter and niece.
IG models?his latests follows on instagram are interesting
he seems to be into them (dare i say prostitutes)

Oh great, you're flirting with flight attendants while he's stuck babysitting.
Saw my old man wading/swimming in the ocean for the first time in my life!
This dudes athleticism is easy.
Whoever thought we'd have to worry about spacing on the logo?!Does this kid not realize that spot is reserved for dame? No respect
Perhaps management always strongly suspected that building an instant contender with their available assets and roster was the total pipedream so many of us did, but they also knew that their aging superstar wanted to know that they were exploring every option? So they proceed to confirm the obvious, running the various meh scenarios they uncovered by him so that he can be on board with when they pivot to their actual plan A... building for the future. So yes, the front office was not able to actually complete their plan A, but they have to pretend like this was plan A all along, and most of the current optimists wanted this to be plan A, so of course they're going to be excited.
I think looking at it this way, the optimism that many are showing does in fact make sense, even though this wasn't the plan.
@oldmangrouch not even a Lil excite?
The only evidence I could maybe point to is that he repeatedly said he spent the last year getting his body right.Don't know if you have seen it, but SI ran a report speculating he actually sat out the past season due to some kind of injury. I see no evidence that is true. He seems 100% healthy and to have the physical talent to be an NBA player.
If they were going to trade Sharpe I think they would have at least delayed the presser. He was on his way to Portland 24hrs after the draft.
I suspect Ant in a sign and trade with other assets - pick package similar to what the Lakers sent out for AD.
Don’t think AD is the guy. And don’t think Ant will be gone this summer. If they were going to trade Sharpe I think they would have at least delayed the presser. He was on his way to Portland 24hrs after the draft.

Everything is less impressive in slow motion
Dr. Strange-SharpeThat’s not slo-mo - dude so good he slows time.
This is so untrue. You do not need a solution to say something is not right. How the fuck do I know what's available? My job isn't to provide solutions for the guy who gets paid to provide solutions.
The point was and remains to be: this was not the plan.
I'm not used to you being optimistic. You're not disappointed at all? Like four years from now when Sharpe is All-NBA or is a bust, I'm not going to be like "I stand corrected" or "told you so," I'll just lament missing a chance at something with Dame.
Great post. I can't wait to catch a peek when Summer League starts. That ship sailed when Dumb fuck Olshey passed on PG13 and Jimmy Butler because he wanted to keep MeJ. It's actually far, FAR more likely we win a Chip with Dame on the back end of his prime hitting clutch shots with SImons and Sharpe doing the heavy lifting than Dame and OG day-to-day Anouby or anyone else that was remotely reasonable. If you're upset we didn't get Durant or LeBron on draft night, yeah sure me too, but that wasn't in the realm of possibility. No available guy except perhaps Simmons (and we could still get him) was going to change the trajectory of this franchise. Sharpe has All-NBA+ potential according to many professionals who watched him. Get this out of your system and then enjoy watching him develop into a star. I will good-naturedly bring this meltdown up often over the years. It's not like we passed on Giannis for CJ, THAT was meltdown worthy and I was correct to take Giannis and also wanted Gobert that draft (check BE if you don't believe me) Sharpe is the first guy we've drafted since Dame I'm truly excited about. I was intrigued by Ant, but I'm excited about Sharpe. Relax, take a few breaths and then start to get into the idea this kid might be special. Chauncey, Dame, and many, many Pro-Scouts all think he is maybe THE guy in this draft. You cannot do better than we did potential-wise (possible exception Holmgren if he puts on 80+ lbs).
Hey man. I'm shocked about the pick and shocked about the optimism. To me, we are one solid, defensive-minded SF away from making noise...and yet we draft 1. the most inexperienced player 2. a guard. I don't know, it just seems like there is a good path just out of reach. Like I said before, if we make a move to shore up the SF position and develop Sharpe, I'm way in. But this sort of commitment to being mediocre--or more realistically, this commitment to ride Dame into the ground--until *maybe* someone pops someday is a hard pill to swallow.
I’ve come around on you. This kinda drunken old man rant is pretty endearing. I feel like you might’ve extrapolated a little too much…That's the problem right there. If you mean maybe getting to the 2nd round, sure. If you mean competing for a ring, absolutely not. We are far from competing for a ring and Sharpe, Nas, and Simons realizing their potential with perhaps slight improvement from Hart and Nurkic is by FAR the most likely way of getting there.
Adding OG or another solid, non-elite wing was not going to get it done. I'd much, MUCH rather have Sharpe's potential than OG who is a known quantity and an oft-injured one at that. Sochan does NOT get us to the promised land unless he goes absolutely berserk on offense.
I have far more faith in Sharpe becoming a plus defender than Sochan becoming a dangerous offensive threat and elite lockdown defender. The tools for Sharpe are all there to be ELITE at both ends of the floor with a ceiling that is dizzying according to many, MANY coaches (Cal at Ky e.g.) and pro-Scouts. What about that do you NOT get? He was the #1 Highschool prospect. Like what the hell do you want bro? I think we did by far, by FAR the best potential move by drafting skies the limit talent, over a solid defender in Sochan, or an oft-injured defender in Anouby. Any OG comparable wing doesn't get it done. Short of Simmons (we could STILL get him) or Durant there is no franchise-altering wing out there that is available, what about that do you not understand? Daniels was NOT the pick if Sharpe is on the board. Our draft was spectacular given our two draft picks we got absolute steals. Sure it would have been nice to get Duren, but we couldn't get it done.
Just seriously read some scouting reports from actual scouts and not moronic hot takes on draft sites or the like, but ACTUAL pros, like Calipari who has coached not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Number 1 overall picks and he said no doubt in his mind Sharpe was a number one pick next year. I mean Jesus dude what did you want? A cloned Michael Jordan to appear from a secret cloning vat that Jody Allen had bought from an off-world civilization?!?!!??! We did great, sit down, relax, take a valium and see what happens.
