I loved that Billups actually said he thinks he can score more than he’s shown, and be more of a focal point in general. I know Nurk has a relationship with him so it’s not just smoke. I think he’s gonna have his best season yet, health willing.

I hate that the idiots on Blazersedge/Reddit and Twitter have made it so any positive comment Dame can make on this hire, they'll skewer him for. Of course he watched this and of course he's outspoken enough to make a comment, but they woulda blasted him even further if he said even a word.

I thought the pc was decent and Chauncey does seem to have a confidence about him that he can lead players and incorporate some new schemes and adjustments. I liked that he mentioned Dame playing off the ball and Nurk being a defensive dude but can score more. To me Chauncey come across sincere and humble addressing that past situation. Im excited that e wants to bring on defensive minded assistant coaches.

Neil got very awkward trying to explain away not hiring Hammon. Mentioned her then went off a wild tangent. He was very uncomfortable in that moment. Basically said he like Becky but Chauncey was always his guy.

Neil basically said he isn't going to trade for another star with his there are other ways answer to win championships. I don't think we will see much change this offseason roster wise.

Probably see Collins go and someone like Olynyk signed. That's about it.

Weak, weak, disappointing stuff
No acknowledgement of hurt or upset fans. No acknowledgement of victims of sexual violence.
Not a single detail from their investigation to offer peace of mind. Mutumboing any questions about the accusations beyond their own short, prepared, unenlightening remarks.

I’m willing to believe Chauncey did nothing wrong. But give me something to work with. As important: show some empathy for victims and their loved ones who are affected by this decision as fans of the org.

Pitiful showing.

Yes us fans are not happy right now..
But knowing the fan psychology, I can almost guarantee that if Blazers start to win, principle’s that most fans are adhering to right now will be put aside and basking in glory will begin again. I have concerns about Chauncey’s hire but from what I see, I trust him to do a good job in terms of running a successful and accountable basketball team.

for better or worse, I probably would have said something like... "in the end, we carefully considered an innovator with an enormous amount of experience, a coach with a middling amount of experience, and one with a smaller amount of experience. We chose the one with the most upside."
