Where is Rasta? What about Barbanovich? Isn't he still available? Fits our age and on the upside?

Neil doesn't make desperation signings for the sake of signing a player.

It clearly points to the fact that he's horrible, sucks, will get fired, Dami(e)n and CJ will demand to be traded AND they're moving to seattle.

Boban is almost 28 so he isnt that young. Hes a restricted free agent of the spurs so they could match.

I think they would need to renounce him to sign Pau, so we might be able to get him. At least one person on this forum would be happy.

28 is close to fitting in though. 3 years older? NOt bad. But the RFA thing... yeah.. Would be a good fit though, no?

He could start for the Spurs, in place of Duncan.

Gasol, LaMarcus, Kwahi a warm body and Tony Parkers old ass.

He might start in GS too

Gasol is not coming to Portland. If he wanted to come here, he would've accepted the offer already.

And at this point, how well is he welcomed? Ohh... okay.. Turned your back on our offer until you realized we were all you could get, so you begrudgingly signed it for lack of better options?.. meh. For the money that contract will be for, I dont think that will go over very well in the locker room. I like him for the right money, but as every second ticks, I like him less and less regardless of the money.

If I was Neil, id call his agent and say this it it, here's the offer, he's not getting more elsewhere, take it or leave it

That's probably already happened. No way are they just sitting around waiting on him.

And now Toronto wants him

If gasol hasn't signed, he's not coming IMO. We would be better off signing all our restricted players and trading for an okafor or Noel type player anyway. This teams needs young bigs who can actually play, not washed up has beens.

I'm all about giving Philly a call at this point to see about Okafor or Noel. Too bad I have zero confidence in Neil actually doing this.

Shiiiit we offer the most money and he STILL doesn't want to sign lol

I still don't really understand the appeal of Gasol. He would be a significant upgrade offensively, but I don't see why he'd sign here and he's a short-term bandaid.

I would have much rather signed a big man that could potentially be a long term solution.

I think in some regard he can be that short term bandaid to hold things down to buy our bigs a bit more development time.

Which bigs? Davis is pretty much what he's going to be.... a hard working garbage man.

Plums..... the guy is so limited offensively. I guess it's possible that he could develop a jumpshot, but I think his problem is confidence. It's extremely difficult to develop confidence.

He's a bandaid, but the best option left. I think he helps win in the short term and is a trade chip down the road to a team looking to make a championship run with a vet.

Which is also vonlehs problem. Zero confidence.

Yeah, this guy definitely not coming, I really think we'll end up with Greg Monroe at this point, he has a lot of warts, but he would be better than Amir or some other scrapheap free agent.

By my estimates, after including the Evan Turner signing:
- Waive Gerald Henderson
- Waive Chris Kaman
- Waive Brian Roberts
That gives the Blazers $8.6M CAP space.
- If we waive Leonard (and keep the rights to Crabbe and Harkless), that would give us about $16.2M of CAP space. 4 yrs / $69.5M total.
- If we waive Harkless (and keep the rights to Crabbe and Leonard), that would give us about $15.8M of CAP space. 4 yrs / $67.6M total.

If we're going to make an offer more that those, we'll need to waive at least 2 of Harkless, Leonard, and/or Crabbe.
