Clingan looks slow, but he covers space a lot quicker than it seems he should. That wingspan is nuts.

And his strength. He knocks dudes to the floor when he blocks them.

A few Game 3 thoughts:

-- Clingan looks to me like he has a good chance to be a better Przybilla. I think he does more offensively, if not necessarily putting the ball in the hoop himself. I think he plays intelligently and shows proto-leadership skills. Not sure if I think he's going to be better than Edey, but, in this draft, the Blazers probably got good value.
-- After a really bad first game, Chandler has played a quality point guard in the last two. He's getting us into offense, not forcing bad shots, doing what he needs to do and had a crazy dunk.
-- McGowens will be a fun player on the Remix and occasional Blazer one-game legend. Definitely has the offensive toolbox. Defensively, he's just the opposite.
-- Rupert's had a good if not great summer league. He's developing.
-- Murray tried to throw the game away at the end. Guy just can't seem to even accomplish the simple things.
-- As a lifelong bachelor, I thought the woman official was cute. Definitely would watch again.

Clingan might be better at (and better off for the team) shooting threes than mid-range shots, taking into account the extra point you get.
With threes, he'll be wide open and can have a line to locate himself.

Cronin taking Murray over Leonard Miller is one of his biggest misses so far.
Not going to agree or not (at least about Leonard - we absolutely should have drafted GG Jackson instead), but I maintain that taking Murray was part of the same "appease Dame" process as re-signing Jerami. Murray was widely regarded as the most NBA-ready player available at the pick.

clingan showed up with a knee brace after that block where he fell over. didn't enjoy that.

I'm getting tired of the Murray slander! He's actually doing ALL the simple things. He's pretty much the calming leader out there and he's playing stellar defense. So he can't score - well neither can Sarr! He's always in the right place and he's doing stuff that doesn't show up in the boxscore (as well as things that do, like 9 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block. (It is pretty amazing that he hasn't even shot ONE FT so far, though.)

The thing about clingan he needs approve on hand strength and he needs grab rebounds with two he hands he tips the ball to much. He also needs to get stronger due he looses rebounds that should be gettable boards. The good thing about him he is a winner and if you notice he don't have to jump majority of the time to block a shot. His offense will probably improve with better players around him so I am not to worry about that right now. But he not ready to start on this team and they shouldn't rush him either. Backup minutes behind ayton will let him improve on his pace.

I think Murray will look better with better players on the floor with him. But he not having good summer but again you guards are not very good.

Went to the game tonight was just behind the bench!

notes:

DA, Shaedon, Dalano, Camara, RWill3, Coach Chauncey were all courtside filling up an entire section cheering on the summer team and the wizards had… Jordan Poole there lol. Was a little hilarious how one franchise takes things seriously.

Against Sarr tonight it was clear who was the true center. Sarr feels like a guard when Donovan was out there. One player actually posting up every chance a smaller guy gets put on them… that would be our boy. It’s funny people thought Sarr was actually better somehow. I’d like to see an argument about any part of the game that is clear at this point.

I think Sarr has the edge on conditioning just using the eyeball test . But that should take care of itself. By December Donovan will probably be fighting trim.
