Ed O -- with all due respect how is this not trying to do the same thing -- HELL he is smaller then Ant and CJ so how --- explain this to me cause your wrong just plain wrong

I have no problem if fans just want to move on from Dame but if these same fans think Dame AND Scoot can be a winner together then your insane and that is a fact and this is a hill I am willing to die on.
No, he's not smaller than CJ. CJ was 6'2.25" at the combine when he was 21. He had a 6'6.25" wingspan. Scoot allegedly measured 6'2" (although there's a report he measured at 6'4" for the Blazers) with a 6'9" wingspan... and he's 19, so he might still grow a bit.

As for whether he's the same size as Ant: who cares? He's a PG, and Ant doesn't play that very often. Matching any two of those guys, though, means you'll not have an especially small dude (Scoot is probably the shortest, but has the longest arms).

Whether Dame and Scoot can win together: you can die on the hill, but I don't really care about your opinion, sorry.

Your example is from a team 30 years ago when this is a different league then it was at that time -- LOL
:sigh: I guess I didn't want to look like I was insulting you by asking if you remember GSW in 2022 (Steph/Klay/Poole/GP3 at guard) and just go with one of the trendsetters; but if you're willing to die on that hill I'm definitely not changing your mind. 3 stud guards isn't a killer. 3 stud guards who don't play D and don't have good team defense is.

yeah -- Poole was such a stud they traded him for Paul who is often injured -- ROFL
and bringing up GP2 -- really -- I said SMALL guards can people learn to read -- NM -- I know the answer to that

Also Klay is what 6'6

Let's agree to disagree and leave it at that

Paul/Schroeder/SGA started and got 5 seed.
How far did they make it in the playoffs?

Surely they made the finals in order for them to be a template of success.

or at least the conference finals.

2nd round?

out in the first round?

Seem like a great template to follow.

Suns made WCF with Nash/Richardson/Dragic/Barbosa

Didn't they only play a year or two together? They had success, but early SGA and not a lot of time to develop

Nah...if you're going ad hominem I'll give you GP2 is 6'2/195 and shorter than every Blazer you're talking about (same stats as Dame) and lighter than everyone but Ant. And I brought up Poole because somehow GSW turned a small guard rotation into a championship (*all stats NBA.com* Poole 6'4/195, Steph 6'2/185, GP2 6'2/195, Klay 6'6/220); and the size (and potentially--which is what we're talking about here with Scoot and Sharpe-- comparable talent) of Dame (6'2/195), Ant (6'3/181), Scoot (6'2/195 but 6'4/195 on bbref) and Sharpe (6'5/200) is comparable (if not bigger). So sure, more team building goes in, but small and extremely talented guards are not a death knell.
Now you can die on the hill.

They played one year together and got 5 seed. Made it to Game 7 of first round. That would be a good result for us next year.

Jason Richardson wasn’t 6’4 and I highly doubt Dragic and Barbosa were starting.

They also had 3 all stars, two of which were front court players to my knowledge. Maybe 4 if Marion was on that team.

But yeah, Dragic and Barbosa played HUGE roles in them making the finals… not the 3 or 4 all stars. Lmao.

If the Blazers keep Scoot I think Dame gets traded probably in the next week or two. Probably to Miami or Brooklyn.
As much as it hurts to say, I think this is the smartest move for the franchise. It's not the best for Dame, but if we could land a young all star level 4/5, our young core will be insane. I personally dont trust Zion and think its too big of a risk when Scoot is already on the roster. Tough crossroad for the franchise.

Lol, why are you so against Scoot Henderson? Do you not see him as a good prospect or something?
Because he doesn’t fill a need, I like Amen more, and realistically, our talent is going to decrease because we need to trade Dame and Simons for him to make sense.

Who cares what you like? He's as much of a sure thing as you can ask for. We needed to trade Simons anyways.

The guy asked me a question so I’m answering with my opinion.

Weren’t you the one popping off telling me Scoot was going 2 and that didn’t fit my narrative?

Lmao.

Oh and by the way, we need to trade Simons AND Dame now.

I doubt we will, but that’s why this franchise hasn’t won a chip since 77.

Our need, technically, is to set up for post dame. And this was the best move for that (even though I wanted Miller).

We just don't have the assets to get a big enough needle mover to make us contenders. This is the smart, sensible play. Dame may or may not like it, but franchise wise it's the best for us long term.

My opinion is that if we are setting up for post Dame, you take damn-near the unanimous “second highest” ceiling in the draft in Amen.

Lmao.

You're typing "Lmao" but you're miserable and have been hellbent the last two weeks shitting on a 19 year old. Lol

Michael Jordan drafting the wrong guy isn't exactly unheard of.

Okay.
