I think they did this because Boston and Memphis have eaten up 8 of the 10 games. So if a team is thinking "sweet, we can just sign him for 4 games, and then waive him and Portland will be stuck with the bill!", the Blazers are like "um, we're not against you guys signing Darius, but it better be for reasons other then screwing us over. "
That's all this is, and the "woah, thats a bitchy move by the Blazers" mindset seems to be missing that simple concept.
No I didn't miss that concept, but its a pussy move. You threaten them with a lawsuit when they play them 2 minutes in 2 games and then sit their ass on the bench for the rest of the season. It was fucking lame, and now we'll pay for it with the next trade we try and make or free agent we try to sign. If you think that players around the league won't look at this as a slight at Miles (even though it wasn't) I think your in for a suprise. Right or wrong, their going to side with Miles and the whole situation makes the Blazers management look bad. They put themselves in this mess, (Allen particularly with his stupid fucking man crush on Miles, or we wouldn't even be talking about this) and now their acting like little whiny bitches. You take legal action AFTER something happens where you have recourse. Way to show the fucking cards early, dumbasses, and also come off like a bunch of complete pricks.
