well, I would suspect that the #'s of people who are sexually attracted to their siblings is very small, but I think it's different then when two, non related, adults (of the same sex) are attracted to each other.

I can't explain it, because A: I'm not attracted to my siblings and B: I'm not attracted to my own sex.

I'll let someone else who is far more articulate than I, explain it better.

You're over-simplifying things. People around the world may frown on marriage between people of different races or religions, but they absolutely abhor and are revolted by the idea of marriage between two people of the same sex. There's really no comparison.

Some parents don't want their kids to marry into a certain family, or to marry a plumber, but again that's a whole different category, too.

the comparison was that for years, that argument was made. But now it appears foolish for anyone to say it, right?

Now, granted the pictures you posted a while ago of a trip you made (I assume it was you? maybe it was someone else) showed you with, iirc, a woman who looked to be of a different race than yourself.

How would you feel if someone said that your relationship/marriage shouldn't be allowed because people abhorred it?

Thing is, a lot of the people on this planet are both ignorant and uneducated. I don't consider what a lot of them think to be important.

I'd bet it's just as common as homosexuality, actually. I personally know at least four women who were abused by fathers, uncles, or brothers. It gets hushed up a lot because of the shame.

"Thousands of years of understanding of what makes a healthy society" includes things like slavery and wars of conquest. We live in modern times and our values have been changing. Society isn't going to crash because people who have been traditionally been though of as "icky" at best and "possessed by Satan" at worst are getting married.
