What does "media availability" mean? Like Deni last year where he takes informal questions?

Da Fuq is the difference? I guess I was wrong. Chat with the press, or sit in front of the press as they ask you questions. What are you wanting to hear exactly?

A press conference is where Cronin and or Billups speak too, like Dames last week. Way more reporters. Way more questions. Hold up the Jersey. They're very different.
 
Strange there hasn’t’ been a Jrue presser earlier to be honest. Hope he can contain his excitement about his big return back home to RipCity.

He said every single person in his life thought his name was Anthony and would call him ANT. Got tired of correcting people and simply let it stick. Kinda like in whatever god awful trailer park you live in…..they either call you Cooter or AssHat right? Sittin out by the moonshine shed playing banjos and whatnot right?

I tried to stick to calling him Anf over the years because I thought calling him Ant was disrespectful to the real Ant: Anthony Edwards.

That reminds me of when I was in the Ft. Lewis stockade (and then Leavenworth). My last name is Hurd; not too difficult really, but for some reasons guys started calling me "Herb". I just let it go; there are some guys you just really don't want to correct.

Alright everybody chime in with your nickname and why!

Nobody could say my last name, so I got called Luke. Just like my dad, uncles. It was cool when my kids teammates started calling them that. If I hear “Luke”, without looking I know it’s somebody I grew up with.
But I’m also a Jr., so I grew up with the family calling me John Jr. or JJ.
Funny quick story, was sitting down on the court on my dinner break on the road and my phone was on speaker talking to my wife…..Dame was warming up and sat down next to me and heard my wife call me JJ. From that day he calls me JJ….only person outside my family that calls me that.

Simons IS the real Ant. Anthony Edwards was drafted in 2020. Anfernee Simons was drafted in 2018. Simons has been called Ant basically his whole life, and since day one of joining the Blazers. I'd been calling Anfernee "Ant" before I'd ever even heard of Anthony Edwards. I guess my reaction is the opposite of yours. I was actually confused the first few times I heard people refer to Edwards as Ant, LOL.

But shouldn’t Edwards be called Anth then? Fuck Edwards. Simons was first.
 
The only nickname I ever had was some of the guys I played basketball with at LBCC called me Wheels, because I loved to push the ball and get ahead of the defense on the fast break.
