Their shooting over the last 3 games was virtually identical.

Will: 4-11, 5-15, 8-14
CJ: 4-11, 6-16, 10-16

Both had stretches where they made 5 shots in a row, and both had stretches where they missed 5 in a row. Both had 2 games that were not very good, and both had good games powered by a short stretch where they made everything they shot. That is how I define streaky. CJ has more polished moves that get him cleaner looks, but he still misses them. Will just attacks with reckless abandon and unorthodox moves.

Over the last four games, CJ is 26-58 for 44.8% from the field.

Will Barton was 21-59 over that same span for 35.5% from the field.

That's a pretty big difference.

I just don't think Will gets it. He thinks he's Penny Hardaway. He doesn't have an ounce of point guard in him.

Personally, I think his problem is that he can't shoot. He can shake and bake and get himself open, but it doesn't do any good if you just miss the open shot.

The weirdest thing about that boxscore is that Meyers is only -10.

Yes, I have to agree: the most disappointing player was Will. That was bad will all the way. Second most was Freeland. He looked totally outclassed, and this is SUMMER LEAGUE. Meyers was obviously the worst player out there on either team, but I've long since given up on him.

There's an obvious reason why we went out and got Kaman.

I love Will, but his shot is so flat, I'm always amazed when it goes in. With CJ, I'm always amazed when it doesn't. Will has the potential to be a better defender and certainly is better to throw lobs to, but CJ should be ahead of him in any rotation now, though it pains me to say it.

At least Bobby Brown got himself a job somewhere with this year's summer league performance. Of course, he always had one waiting in Europe, and I fear that's where he's heading back.

Yep. Not my point. My point was they are streaky. Both are generally inefficient, then have bursts where they make a lot of shots to give you hope. Today's game is the only thing really separating their overall percentages anyway. Today's game was a throwaway after halftime.

Until today, Barton was 42.5% and CJ was 46.5%

Lots of guys go on runs. I don't know if I'd say CJ is streaky. He tends to try outside shots, and if those aren't falling he changes his game. Will is all over the place. He has no conscience. He just takes shots.

Meyers is just plain awful. I haven't seen a player at this stage of his career be so awful and have such little confidence in his own abilities. His body language out there was deplorable and that has an affect on your teammates.

He is never going to workout in Portland unfortunately. Either the Blazers are able to pawn him off onto another team or they just don't pick up his option for the following season. It looked like he wasn't even trying out there. AWFUL.

I have seen players with confidence issues before, and it takes going to a team that just throws them out there, mistakes and all, for them to break out of it. Or they don't break out of it.

Totally agree on the body language. It was like he was high on something that made him paranoid and was just trying to find a corner to freak out in.

I guessed in a previous game that he's on meds. Today he tried much harder than then, staying near the basket.

Whatever, do NOT extend him Oct. 31, 2014 for 2015-16.

Watching Meyers play makes me sometimes think, maybe I was wrong about Luke Babbit.

How many times has a blazer "project" actually paid off? At the moment, I can't think of any. But I can think of a dozen players who we hoped would develop and never amounted to *Chris Farley Voice* JACK SQUAT.

Right now, this team has over 8 million invested in Freeland, Leonard, Claver, Barton and Crabbe. Why not instead of keeping 15 players on the roster (with 5 good for nothings), Have twelve with and get someone for ~4 mil a year.

I wanted to get excited about Barton....but what a piece of crap game.

I'll take a missed clean look where team has chance to get rebound/back on defense over a turnover which leads to a fast break.

I look at it like we got Kaman as an upgrade to Freeland. Meyers is simply a non-factor and not worth all this animosity. He's pretty good at sitting on the bench pumping his fists and posing when a teammate makes a good play though. Every team needs one of those.
