The rotation of subs will change by next week. This is just a starter. I see CJ coming out about the 8 minute mark, and replaced by GT. so he can be fresh at the start of the 2nd quarter. Whiteside will play in the 1st qtr. as well. I think the Blazers will play a rotation of Dame, CJ, Melo, Zach, Nurk, Hassan, GT, Nas & Mario. You won't see anyone else unless it's a blowout IMO.

Was impressed with Wenyen, Mario and Trent. Add in either Whiteside or Collins and that's a decent bench. Lets face it, the starters will be playing heavy minutes from the get go.

Agreed, when it counts, I think it will be rare indeed to have any minutes without either CJ or Dame on the floor.

It seems like this team still has the problem of: when things are not going their way, they guards (and Mel0) just abandon the offense and start chucking up random shots to try and get back into the game.

Somebody tell him he should do one of two things within the first two seconds of getting the ball: launch an uncontested three or GIVE UP THE FUCKING BALL. Watch it. Even though the lose, there are some good plays in the game. Just shows once again the Blazers need a reliable veteran on the second unit, instead of unproven talent.

Who else want to bet that Stotts won't play Gabriel and gives Mario minutes?

I get giddy thinking about the defense in the second unit with Gary Trent Jr., Wenyen Gabriel and Nassir Little. Of course Hassan Whiteside is also in the mix too. Gabriel and Trent Jr. should be getting the bulk of the minutes no question.

If we went from Zach Collins to Wenyen Gabriel, is that even a drop off defensively? Looks like he was the gem in the Skal/Caleb trade after all.

Glad to see both Nurk and Zach play but i was not really impressed at all with the team as a whole. Really still do not like Gabriel or Hoard.

One thing i am certain of is Simmons plays way way better with Zach than he does with the scrubs.

Another thing i am pretty sure of people's expectations for this team are way too high. They most likely will not see the playoffs.

Melo is an elite defender when put in isolation.

I would have scoffed at this but he actually did well tonight in isolation situations.

Mario played well. Get off his back. He's making strides. Ant, not so much. His whole game was hideous. But it's practice. Nurk looked so damn good. Again, whether we lost or won, this is a practice scrimmage or exhibition. Don't get too high or low on any of these games. Melo with some quality minutes as well. Zach with some quality minutes. Good to see hoops again.

I kinda felt Mario did some good things also. Not great but he didn't hurt them and he made some shots when they needed them.
