Game Thread Blazes vs Spurs game 3 Summer League

Something I really like that I didn't see previously...

If you play with crappy guards, just dribble the ball up the court yourself and find someone. Has worked great for Swanigan. Add dribbling to his list of skills.

My blood pressure went up 20 points just reading that. There are no words to describe how much that pisses me off.

It gets even worse when they seem to realize their mistake, and during FTs they take away the PIP and just show the FTs being taken while the guys continue to talk in the background, but then when the action goes live again they inexplicably bring the PIP back. Makes me want to throw my remote through the TV screen.

haven't got to watch any of the SL games, is he he looking like a player who could fit well with Nurk?

Offensively? yes.

But it's all about defense for him imo.
He's shown the ability to rotate and keep SL guards/wings infront of him.
We'll see if he shows that same ability against NBA guards.

Whoever said a Portland rec league could run with our SL roster last thread was so spot on.
Outside of the two draft picks I've been greatly underwhelmed by the talent level.

Forbes......how do the Spurs continue to find talent no one else seems to notice?

Something I have never understood..... Paul's wealth is less of an advantage for acquiring players because of the salary cap... but why the hell can't he put together the absolute best front office in the history of the game? Why can't he poach the best people from around the league with huge offers? I don't get it.

In summer league that's probably usually good enough to actually win, but SA has like 6 guys simultaneously having their best game of their professional careers.
Of course they are. It's San Antonio. Every scrub in sneakers looks like a star on the Spurs. It's some kind of crazy voodoo.

Sweet play by Cleveland. Even if both he and the ball clearly went out of bounds right in front of one of the three blind mice reffing this game :)

We have more steals and more rebounds than they do, but we have 5 more turnovers, and their shooting percentages are insane.

Barry on NBAtv just noted that Swanigan plays with poise, like he doesn't have anything to prove. No panic in his game. Interesting way to put it, but yeah - poise.

Swanigan so far - 17 pts, 12 reb, 1 ast, 2 stls, 1 blk. Solid.

Johnson trying to defend Forbes reminds me of Jalen Rose trying to stop Kobe from dropping 81 points.

Bertans tired of getting pushed around by Swanigan.

So, he takes it out on Gutierriz.
