<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>No Net was more relieved when the trade deadline passed than Bostjan Nachbar. His name kept coming up because his contract is expiring and the Nets' sixth man didn't want to go anywhere. The same goes for this summer when Nachbar can test the market.

"I'm as comfortable here as I've been with any other place in the world playing basketball," Nachbar said. "So this is where I want to be."

The Nets would like to keep their best reserve, who scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth period of Saturday's come-from-behind win. But Nachbar should get plenty of interest and a raise on his $2.5 million salary this season. The league has become smaller and more athletic, which should make the versatile Nachbar a valuable commodity.

Nachbar said he thought about his future plenty around the deadline, but not anymore.

"I've put it behind me for a while," Nachbar said, "because the focus is on the playoffs."</div>

Would you want to bring him back? What size/length of a contract would you give him?

2 year 3 mil at most. and we still need another shooter, boki is an 8th man but we need a good shooter

I concur

Other teams I heard are interested in him so we might have to go higher IMO. I wouldn't want to go higher but Nachbar is just one of those players you don't let go incase he randomly finds his shot for the entire season.

There are really no upgrades in the market, cheap ones anyway.

I wouldn't mind brining Boki back but only until a permanent replacement is found.

He's still our best bench player so not resigning him would be a step back. Originally I was hesitant in bringing him back, but it seems he's found his shot this second-half of the season; decent rebounder, too.

Its funny How I was talking wiht him about this yesterday. He was like I hope to end my carreer as a Net. I was like just make the best decision for u and ur familyy

He's an upgradeable player, but I'd like to keep him around because I think he's a good guy in the locker room. He's another guy who I think has shown some leadership ability.

It's kind of how I felt about Mikki Moore. If he will stay for a reasonable contract, he's not bad to have. Just don't overuse him.

Same exact way I'm thinking. He's really improved over the past couple months. I mean, I wish he could do this all season long...but this might be the best we could get.

Eh.

It is a good sign that two players in the same week have uttered out how much they enjoy playing here and hope to stay in New Jersey.

They both are small forwards as well haha.

I'd keep him. His teammates definitely like him, and he's a game changer. You need guys like him, players who can get hot in an instant and win a game for you.

He makes $2.5 million this year, his last year in a three year, $7.5 million contract.

Nets will probably offer him a similar deal to Mikki Moore...$10 million over three years. That's a deal that starts at $3 million, then escalates to $3.315 million, then $3.63 million. Seems about right.

Maybe that's a sign of this team's improving chemistry...?

Sure seems like it. Maybe these guys are finally beginning to gel.

exactly what i was thinking.
unfortunately, i could see some team overpaying Boki ala Mikki.

Welcome to S2, dunbladekilla! If you got any questions, PM me or something and lemme know!

one quick question about the article it says boki is one of two free agents the nets want to keep this off season the other is Gana Diop. So what exactly happens to kristic?

I guess I have mixed feelings . . . he's inconsistent and can't defend . . . but they'd just end up overpaying for some useless slug instead, and it's good to have SOME players that want to play for the team.

I would definately re-sign him. he seems like a good locker room guy and fills some needs off the bench. I don't get the inconsistent part that people bring up. he's a backup and i think for what he brings, he's a good one. he can hit a 3 and he's a competitor who doesn't seem to back down from anyone. I, for one, would be very upset if he didn't come back

For the record, he did that in garbage minutes. Really, after the first quarter, I'm pretty sure Seattle just completely gave up.

Btw Boki got 21 pts, 4 reb, 2 asts, a steal and a block in 27 minutes in a meaningful game against a good playoff team in Cleveland.

And a few nights later, 16 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist in 20 minutes...in another meaningful game against a great playoff team in Utah.

i would take jr smith over boki anyday, both are bad defenders but offensively, JR blows boki away and actually gives us a backup SG

hmm what kind of contract would JR want? would he give us the hometown discount so he can play at his home state? do we even have the money for him? id love him to be on the nets.

I think he would because his family lives here in NJ, his mama, his daughter, his cousins and uncle, he'd want to come home.

JR strikes me as a get as much money as possible kind of guy.

well if hes willin to take a 3-4 mill/yr contract, its worth it...

he's gotten a bad rap eversince Byron Scott and him had some issues but supposively it was more on Scott he had him benched ala what LF did to Sean at the beginning of this season and they never got over that. He was almost a Spur but NO/OK at the time didn't want him to end up in the West so they sent him East for Tyson Chandler, Scott never liked him I don't care how many times he said he didn't degrade him he hated JR's over confidence and a bit of his cockiness just like a Nate Robinson all the talent too much confidence.

JR flipped the script on him last season.

sometimes players esp young ones need someone who can groom em... scott is like a military general, thats y kidd hated him.... lol

it wasn't just Kidd, you can add Brandon Bass, Hilton Armstrong, RJ and even Lucious Harris from what I remember had a bit of an issue w/ Byron, he's a damn good coach but at times got so hands on it effected alot of players. I think people discount another thing, when your star player doesn't fall in line your team can break, we saw it happen w/ Kidd and Scott, coincidence that Scott lands to a team which has an All Star Franchise PG again but this one knows when to cash his chips and fall in line and everyone else followed after Scott and NOK management chose to use JR as an example, JR was seen as a franchise # 2 player and when he was traded the message was sent to the lockerroom either follow Scott or be shipped out.
