Boone has found his niche?

We all knew Boone was not a starter. Looks like he found himself in a backup role which suits him perfectly. We may have a decent C combo. Lopez - starter, Boone - backup.

I like the idea of Boone/Lopez. More D-fense inside. Anything for D-fense.

I just cringe when Boone gets the ball, did you see the way he tried to throw it away two times before the shot clock expired, like he's trying to say "oh no, I can't shoot for sh*t, why are you passing it to me?"

I don't think Yi is ready for the NBA. I just see him getting beat all the time. Nets must win first, if he's not shooting well, then he's worthless.

He is horribly inconsistent and his offensive game has not improved one iota since he came to the Nets. His range beyond five feet is non existent and his foul shooting is the same--horrific.

NetIncome, your sounding like a hypocrite at the same time. Yi has had a lot of bad games, more bad then good, and you really don't know which Yi is going to show up. His last 10 games have been:

2-10 FG 9 points, 2 rebounds
2-6 FG 7 points 4 rebounds
4-13 FG 10 points, 7 rebounds
2-4 FG 6 points, 5 rebounds
7-15, 16 points, 10 rebounds
1-6 FG 2 points, 7 rebounds
1-3 FG 3 points, 1 rebound
1-8 FG 2 points, 9 rebounds
4-11 FG 14 points, 7 rebounds
6-10 FG 13 points, 6 rebounds

So from those 10 games, I'd say about 3 of them were good games, 4 if your generous by counting the 4-13 game as "good." At the same time he doesn't play much defense either, so if he's not shooting well which seems to be more often that not lately, he's a liability on the court.

when someone call you an Yi hater, you say that you are just a Nets fan that want the team to do well, but in fact, every single one of your post is hating on Yi. you manage to somehow talk about Yi sucking in every single thread, like this one that has nothing to do with Yi. Start boone at PF! really? Why? because Ryan Anderson doesn't play well enough now to replace Yi in the starting line up? seems like your agenda from day one is to bench Yi no matter what or who. Boone's defense is so lock down that the nets can afford to have 2 opposing big men to camp in the paint to stop dribble penetration right? who's next? Najera? I actually wouldn't mind Najera starting as much if he's fully healthy, he has the range to stretch the floor and hustles on D.

We all know Yi's not living up to the expectation. He's defense is pretty bad, but it's made worse when everyone talks about it everytime someone scores on him. But Yi is hardly hurting the team, If he rebounds, play ok defense and space the floor on the offensive end and knock down more open shots, it wouldn't be a total bust for the season in my book. Any other type of offense would be a bonus for me. By your logic, anyone plays with the bench would have a negative +/-, wouldn't that make bench more of the problem for the Nets than who is starting at PF? Simmons play with starters, and he has a -59, so I guess you are saying he's worse than a ball boy.

You could be a Nets fan and an Yi hater, they are not mutually exclusive. Keep stating that you are a Nets fan when you get called out doesn't really say much. Anyone with half a brain can tell that you are an Yi hater, I don't see you posting about getting Simmons replaced in every single thread, related or not.

You see to play defense you first must have desire to play defense. He allows everytime his man to go right past him and then he tries to block the man from behind him. That type of defense may have worked against smaller slower players in china, but it clearly won't cut it here in the nba. 30 games into the season and i've not seen him beat his man to the point once. I've not seen him force his man to drive out of bounds. Its always right past yi for an uncontested shot. Every once in a while he gets lucky and is able to block from behind the man, and he does get some blocks helping out when he drops to the middle and maybe blocks a guards shot.

When on offense he just stands at the 3pt line, and when the ball is on the other side of the court and shot from there he then just drifts towards the half court line and goes back to play defense, ( which he doesn't know how to play). Meanwhile Ryan Anderson does crash the boards, does dive after loose balls, does get to the line, and has a knack for the ball.

After 30 games i've seen enough to know maybe, and i do mean maybe, he may get it in his 3rd year if he hires a personal trainer who teaches him defense and other parts of the game so he can use his big frame to make a difference. He won't be doing it this year...

So if i give an honest evaluation about a inferior player i'm being a hater. Well, whatever.

Now if your just a Yi fan you believe the franchise whoever it is must give Yi all the time in the world to learn basic basketball, even if it leads to many many loses. A nets fan wants the best players playing, and the over hyped players waived, traded, or sitting on the end of the bench...

I answer this question, why lopez and simmons has almost the worse +/- stats, because your most stupid coach frank always put his belove 1 big 4 smalls in when in the fourth quarter, and always brought back a lost, so the big=lopez and one of the smalls=simmons has the worse +/- stats, Yi hadly play the fourth quarter, so he has the best +/- stats, if Yi play the fourth quarter, I don't know what's the result, I never know, Frank never put Yi in when in the fourth quarter, he like his four small man and the slow big very very very much. I tell you when play the 1 big 4 smalls, boone is the better answer.

It's ok if you like or dislike a player, or think a player is good or no good, but making horrendously inaccurate assessment of the players is not. Not just your post about Yi, a lot of your posts are so ridiculous, it's not even worth reading. Nobody including myself in his right mind thinks Yi is a good player right now, but most people don't make post to make him worse than he actually is. This is exactly why you are an Yi hater. Yi might not be starting material right now for a lot of teams, but Nets doesn't exactly have the right PF that fit better into the offense to replace Yi for his minutes. You even take a step farther saying Yi doesn't even belong in the NBA. Maybe you should run the Nets organization and fire coach frank for starting him. I have to agree at some points in this post, Yi need to hire a personal trainer, I don't understand why the coach don't teach him one or two things that Yi actually did very bad in his game. NBA coach don't teach the little things?
